Well not a lot to put on here really :-\ lol

This is when I had the car back in January 2006

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/NikkiJ1987/pug7.jpg

I know the pics arent very good... When I had her she had 35,000 miles on the clock, half leather interior, full service history, HPI clear etc and completely standard

First mod was putting GTi wheels on here around March time (kept the limited edition wheels too)...

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/NikkiJ1987/Picture005.jpg

Had the wheels dirt cheap with four good tyres from a mate, few marks on them but not a problem as both sets of wheels will be refurbished at some point. GTi wheels will be going anthracite :)

After that i got a new head unit, Kenwood KDC-W7531 CD / MP3 / WMA player

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/NikkiJ1987/KENWOOD-KDC-W7531.jpg

Then the system got done in the summer

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/NikkiJ1987/Picture003-1.jpg

2x 12" subs - Alphasonik
2 channel and 4 channel amp - Alphasonik
set of coaxials - Alphasonik
Wiring - Voodoo
Also got a 1 farad Inphase powercap (not connected atm)
Still got work to do on this but i lost interest lol ::)

And I also had my exhaust which is a magnex twin exit catback

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/NikkiJ1987/Picture009-1.jpg
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/NikkiJ1987/Picture010.jpg

Thats all I've done so far as she has been a bit of a bitch and had a few problems and needed money spent to keep her on the road rather than mod her :(

Hoping to get a few more things done before FCS though ;D

I always say this to people 60mm isn't as LOW as people 1st think. Its bloody perfect as i saw at the MIds Meet.

If your really gona be boring and not go 60mm then take it 50mm ;) ...40mm and less is pants!

Good work

Dan
13-02-2007, 11:10 PM
40mm is no way near enough.

60mm is the way. :)

Tuscan
13-02-2007, 11:12 PM
I had 45mm before and i could fit my hole fist in the arch ontop the tyre!
Ruuuuuubish

NikkiGTi
13-02-2007, 11:13 PM
Its not a case of it being too low, I've heard it can mess up a few things of the car though?

Has anyone found any problems with their being 60mm at all?

Not too good on the whole lowering thing so going to get some more info before deciding for sure anyways ;D

Jonnyh
13-02-2007, 11:17 PM
If she aint scraping she aint low enough :D

Dan
13-02-2007, 11:25 PM
60mm is fine Nikki just make sure you upgrade your shocks. :)

Tuscan
13-02-2007, 11:28 PM

Not the best pics but there you go lol

Yes i know she needs clear side repeaters (Jonny!! lol) and please excuse the tape on the mirror....

I have also bought a Koni sport kit so shes getting lowered 40mm at the end of the month :D

Jonnyh
10-03-2007, 04:55 PM

Looking very nice and clean. Diablo red looks great, just like the one I saw today :)

NikkiGTi
10-03-2007, 05:01 PM
Nope not booked her in yet, wanted to lower her first and then book it :)

Tony
10-03-2007, 05:05 PM
even with upgrading your shocks they will get humped a lot quiker with it being down at 60mm

NikkiGTi
10-03-2007, 05:11 PM
Exactly and 60mm just isnt practical enough with my drive and the speed bumps in work

Really looking forward to putting my Koni's on :D

hartmj
10-03-2007, 06:11 PM
looking good nikki, go betty go lol

mikey_b
10-03-2007, 06:18 PM
im down 60mm and never have any problems realy, the lump speedbumps in the road are annoying sometimes cos you have to go in the middle of the road to get over them but overall it never scrapes unless you are going too fast

Dan
10-03-2007, 06:19 PM
I was down 60mm and never scrapped.

Had 5 people in it every single Sunday.

mikey_b
10-03-2007, 06:22 PM
i scrape on bad bumps with 4 in sometimes, big lads though

Tony
10-03-2007, 07:47 PM
i'm down about 50mm and i scrape going over some bumps and going up multi story car parks. Going up to 30mm very soon

NikkiGTi
10-03-2007, 10:39 PM
To get out of my drive i need to reverse and turn on a slight uphill angle with a few nasty dips, so i can only go 40mm and it will probably catch the front bumper lowered at that height mind

pugginquik
11-03-2007, 01:21 AM
the dark side say if you aint rubbin you aint dubbin

well if you aint scrubbing you aint pugging!

looking sexy as is! lowered will be sex weee provoking :)

Dan
11-03-2007, 03:46 AM
Haha.

Awesome line mate.

Tony
11-03-2007, 08:51 PM
on your arse does look cool as **** but its not great for the practical or performance side of things

NikkiGTi
11-03-2007, 08:57 PM
Well i checked today and it looks like 40mm is a bit too low to get the car on the drive straight forward, it will rip the bumper to bits :( plan of action is to learn to reverse down the street and onto the drive lol

Tony
11-03-2007, 09:10 PM
go 30mm, H&R do a good set of springs, cost is about 100 delivered

Dargs
11-03-2007, 09:35 PM
any pics of your drive nikki? you make it sould like a ditch or something lol

NikkiGTi
11-03-2007, 09:58 PM
No, not got pics of it but from past experience with the corsa when it was lowered, when you drove it front facing it scratched like hell, but reversing it in was fine and that was a lot lower so fingers crossed lol :p

Problem is theres a big pot-hole type thing just outside the gates/garage where the tarmac has gone and its just generally weather beaten, had a few arguements with the council about filling it  but if its filled it will cause problems with getting in and out of the garage as there will be a big dip there which i also use...

Dan
11-03-2007, 10:10 PM
That sucks, you can't even go 40mm.

Id probably put the house on the market, easiest thing really.

NikkiGTi
11-03-2007, 10:43 PM
She will go 40mm!! even if i have to park her down the street lol

NikkiGTi
25-03-2007, 06:18 PM
Well I done ickle bits today...

(sorry about the pictures but i was too lazy to get the camera so i took them with my phone lol)

De-wipered her

NikkiGTi
29-03-2007, 04:39 PM
Well she went in to be lowered today (40mm on Koni's) and I must say I dont know what to make of it  baring in mind this is the first car I've lowered so I didnt/dont have a clue what to expect really

The handling side of things is spot on, and the back is perfect but the front...it just doesnt look right or maybe its just me
I know it needs time to settle but even the garage rang to make sure they were lowering springs as the front is sitting so high ie pretty much the same height as before... we'll see how it goes for now.

Anyway heres some pictures taken with my phone :o

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b146/NikkiJ1987/29-03-07_0841.jpg

Mine and James' car in the garage comparing height difference as his is down 50mm and mines 40mm

29-03-2007, 04:49 PM
i thought that after lowering my first car.....now i jus go ultra low to make sure....same as when working in car shop never use to sell people 30-40mm springs unless they know definaltey want them as everyone says dont look lower....

NikkiGTi
29-03-2007, 04:53 PM
I didnt want it scrapping its arse as i use the car everyday and it wouldnt be practicle, hence going for a 40mm drop

But comparing mine and James quiksilver, considering its only meant to be a 10mm difference in height, its a lot more  like i said the back is fine its just the front thats confusing me! lol

Dan
29-03-2007, 05:35 PM
They have done the back ALOT more than 40mm.

NikkiGTi
29-03-2007, 05:37 PM
They have done the back ALOT more than 40mm.

Really  or could they have done it 40mm and it looks lower because of my system

G124EME_XSI
29-03-2007, 05:45 PM
i think the front should settle in its own time.but the bak def looks alot lower thn 40mm like dan says.

Tim
29-03-2007, 07:34 PM
i had mine lowered yday, back sits lower than front also. 45mm mine was at back. springs should settle in tho as im still using standard shocks for the time being

Tony
29-03-2007, 07:42 PM
the rear has been done atleast 50mm

NikkiGTi
29-03-2007, 07:52 PM
But could it look lower due to the system in the boot?

Dargs
29-03-2007, 09:40 PM
i reckon it well settle out after a few weeks, remember there brand new and havent even covered hardly any mileage yet ;)

still looks alrite anyway :D

Back looks like its sits the same as mine, and mine was 1 notch

Jonnyh
29-03-2007, 11:06 PM
I think shes sitting perfect on the back, im sure the fronts will settle in after some millage but i think she sits great all round tbh :D

NikkiGTi
30-03-2007, 11:03 AM
Cheers :D

Yeah its the same as one notch on the back as it sits exactly the same as James' quiksilver

I've taken it out (all day yesterday lol) and it seems to be settling slowly, ie i've caught the bumpers and exhaust a few times  and you can see the front going down. :D

James
31-03-2007, 01:16 PM
at the rear it sits exact same as mine and mine is 40 mm

NikkiGTi
31-03-2007, 07:13 PM
