Def agree, waste of money.
spent on a decent set of components will make so much diff.
Dont buy alpine, its crap. Too expensive for what it is. Alpine you just paying for the name.
Infinity is awesome for its money, cheap and very good speakers.
If you wanna spend some good money, get some lanzar, lanzar opti drives - vibes, MTX. All awesome, reasonable price. Lanzar are built for quality and not bass - I have a set of lanzar speakers in the front of my car and the quality is outstanding, no sub, but the rear speakers give enough bass.

I know over on the SSC they worship Boston Acoustics Components, which are about £90 from CAD IIRC.

I love vibe stuff for value and quality of sound, but heard a set of rainbow components before and think i may have been converted!

Hertz or rainbow comps and you can't go wrong, for £110 i'd hoenstly fit the herz high energy coaxials they fit in stock location, i fitted a set for ben at fast car magazine when he did the product test on them and they were the first set of coxials ive fitted in a long time that i was blown away.
really? quite impressed with that if your recomending them over a set of comps they must be good!
ive heard nothing but good things about rainbow , dont they have some really high end gear like 2k for some comps? lol

yeh they do have comps for that they also have comps for 6.5k lol hertz do comps for £1.5k.
I'm saying the hertz coaxials would be good for some one of that budget, installation will be simple aswell, they really are worth every penny
It all depends where you want to take your system in the future if you were to amp the fronts id probably run comps. but then i'd save that little buit extra and get a better set in the front it's the most important part of a system you sit in the front so thats where the money should be spent ;D

I got recommended to listen to a set of hertz coax, thought the chap was after commission or summat lol, but if they areas good as that then ill have a gander when im next down the ice shop.
U ever fitted the rainbows in a 106?
I was so impressed by them for around £170 wouldn't even need to touch the rears.
