Going to look at a rallye tomorrow. she's on 79,500
Is there anyway to tell if the cam belt has been replaced if there are no receipts?

Or would it of gone by 79,500 if it was the original?

thanks

Cambelt change is 80,000 miles or 5 years whichever comes first. If your not sure if its been done or not, whip the cambelt cover off and have a good look at the belt if the writing is still on it. Also when you change it, its worth buying the whole kit e.g with rollers and tensioner and changing the water pump and the alternator belt, cost bout £100 for all the bits, genuine peugeot bits.

nick if you replace the belt do the tensioner at the same time aswel mate, if you look at the belt thats on it if its worn you will be able to see where the teeth are on the back of the belt mate. the back of the belt will look like a piano if you understand lol

There is no document history on it and i love my car to much for it to go bang!!! yer they say either 80k or 5years, my car has done 50k and my car is 8 year old:eek: its well over due, one thing does the car feel alot more better to drive after its been done? like more smoother to drive and etc? No paperwork! Dont take any chances, replace it!! Better a £150 spent replacing it than £500+ if it expires doing warp factor six down the motorway.
