Hi

Well got this car to lose some mileage on my new car but it turns out that my situation is not as bad as i first thought (panic set in :P)

The other week i had to take the head off and it appeared to have some cracks and due to the above i dont really need to fix it and so am giving someone else the opportunity to grab a decent GTi shell/engine (less head) for not a lot of money.

the original for sale thread i had is this here http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=53000

i'll try get some more of the interior today but remember this car does still come with everything it will just require a new head for it to work. Mileage on the bottom half of the engine is 112k i believe from memory and ran fine before the head cracked and has had about 3 oil changes since owning it all on fully syn oil.

It also wont come with a steering wheel but we can use mine to move it about when collection is arranged.

1600 ono

PM me for more details or if you think my price is high can you let me know.

ok ok i did say let me know as i were sure you could just say rather than attacking, also if you read it doesn't come with the head so its ready for a new head which you can get for not alot.

price adjusted if it dont sell for that i'll prob break could make more in peices prob at that price but i need it gone quickly.

It's hardly worth £1600 tho is it? I got a 98 GTi with a blown headgasket for £750. And i could put money on it that it was in better condition than that.

You'd be better putting a head on it. Never going to do that kind of money. Would you buy a car for £2200 that you couldn't see run or move ?

when i got the car it was hardly what i call working had lots of little things wrong with it all of which the guy didn't say in the for sale thread which is why it was cheap. i thought it was a bargin when i got there to pick it up thing wouldnt start, blowing exhaust, wheels falling off.....

i've spent about 800 pounds on it since getting it just to tidy it up so maybe that way why it was so cheap in the first place?

anyway give it a week and if it dont sell i'll just break what i can and call the council to come crush what i cant shift ;)

they can have the head with the car if they like its just had 16 new lifters installed in it and a new cam belt done with under <400 miles. just a friging bummer that its crack all i can say but thats life lol
