Went out on the mash with the other forum on sat night before wasnt to bad we did plenty of random calls lol

NOW FCS itself was worse than last year, fair enough brunters runway was death on your legs but the layout this year was pants again. About 12 trade stands? Food was awful and overpriced yet again, getting to the trade area was a ballache aswell going through the tunnel of doom and up the endless stairs.

The "Models" oh dear god baby pie face!! Some were ok but there were the few that really stood out! one had here arse cheeks litterally out and thighs so big they rubbed together when she walked, not even bobfoc! Blonde one in a crop top massive tits but had the stomach of a diseaed pigeon!

TBH I think I would prefer it to be at brunters again I am not sure, only take 2hrs to get to rockingham though so not all bad, was going to come over and say hello but by 2.30pm I was properly goosed so went early.

Did see plenty of you guys tho as I wa sparked on the axoc stand infront of you lot, that white gti that was there was beautiful

What a charlie-foxtrot the whole event was. Not even organised enough to be called a shambles.

1) The organisers hadn't paid out for any police traffic control. As a result a 3 mile queue quickly formed, slowing down entry for ticket holders and disrupting traffic for locals.

2) The queue made us late - ah well, these things happen, so I gave up on parking with the PSOOC contingent (i'd brought the 107 XS especially) and dumped it in the car park...only to find they were still letting cars in until 10am. nice of them to tell me...NOT!

3) Security was a joke, not even so much as a special constable on patrol, only a couple of venue heavies with caloused knuckles (and no SIA badges on display). Completely unacceptable for an event of that size in the current political climate.

4) The on site 5mph limit was completely ignored by the spottiebums in their paxos, making the event a very dangerous place to be walking with a 10 year old. Indeed, the standard of driving diplayed by many was shocking - during the drive into th site the nob behind me in the black 106 was so close he could have been on tow, and the lad in the silver 106 in front was watching TV on the move. Well, the police sergeant and constable in the red 107 making the filling in the 106/107XS/106 sandwich weren't impressed. NIP? someone will be getting one very soon!

Leaving the site for a spot of lunch we were driving down the exit road and were nearly run onto the grass by another 106 pilot racing a car coming the other way on the 5mph entry road. Well, that was it for me and we never went back.

Lord knows this is a resepctable 106 site and hope no one from on here was up to this kind of malarky.

5) On site refreshments were shockingly expensive, even by the standards of such a venue. £2 for a cup of (cr4p) coffee was joke - it was £1.20 at Pugfest, and actually tasted of coffee.

6) Marshalling on the infield was of a dangerous standard to both drivers and pedestrians - on more han 1 occasion I obseved cars coming off the track being directed straight into an oncoming car or folk on foot. Clever.

The organisers took £15 a head off me for this, and all they really provided in return was a venue to park up and left everyone to it. Not hard, not clever, and certainly not good value - I shan't be bothering again.

I only had a 20 mile drive, and I feel sorry for those that had an overnighter in order to be there. A lot of slagging off going on the interweb. Very disappointing.

never been to FCS, but didnt seem the best organised, waited near on an hour to get in.

As for the models... i would've donned a skimpy top and skirt if they were that desperate.

As for the show, great turnout though, hope everyone got home alrite and safe

I had a good day - nice to meet a load more people and was thankful that the weather held out!

There were some downsides, such as 50% of the "models", and I also thought there were going to be more trade stands - but actually that probably helped me save money ;) Also the food was well overpriced, but then I was expecting that as it always is at these kinds of events!

Overall I enjoyed the day. Like I said nice to meet some new people and also see everyone's cars :D

I left about 3:30. Werent a bad day. bit poorly organised though and not even half as many trading stands as i thought thier would be. Although still an enjoyable experience. Also some very nice cars thier, and good to see some of the forums cars in the flesh :).
P.S, Sum1 get sum pics up ;p.

no race track in the country has food like burgers for less than £4.50 and drinks for less than £1.50. Rip off everywhere. Not sure what the monster trucks were all about, i watched for about 20 mins and they didnt do anything, but saw bic go round the track (timed him at 1:34 if he wants to know), highlight of the infield.

Plus steve_gti on the meguiars stand - **** in hell your car is neat!

Just got home

Firstly thanks

Thanks to the 45+ members that turned up and showed their car
Thanks to mikey and the rest who drove sober saturday night so piss-heads like myself could get wrecked :)
Thanks to lacey for walking around nearly all day handing out flyers and selling raffle tickets
Thanks to joe for sorting the t-shirts and everything else

And thanks to all the staff for the hard work

The show - in my opinion - was dissapointing as usual
The "club stands" were just basically a big car park that nearly everyone ignored.
The trade area was a joke - had a pocket full of money and couldnt find anything to buy even if I wanted to, took 10 minutes to walk through the whole lot.
The track looked ok for those that like that sort of thing, was a brilliant experience to see bic passing evo's AGAIN!.

What annoyed me the most was the shitty attitude of saxperience members threatening to smack us on saturday night, and other chav-like clubs sending stupid texts and generally acting like nobs (but ive sort of come to expect it from those clubs involved!!)

But all in all the night out on saturday was brilliant, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting a lot of people from here, and have had a good weekend!!

Im now going to get something to eat and fall asleep in front of a film as I feel absolutely wrecked, and then im taking a bit of a holiday from the running of the club for a week

Look forward to seeing all the pics (well except the saturday night ones), thanks again all!

I can personally guarantee you that was no-one from our stand, everyone was parked by 10am and no-one moved till 3pm which I was under the understanding were the rules for obvious health and safety reasons

Unfortunatly like most years there was no security and the people in charge of organisation really couldnt care less :(

didnt come in my bodied xsi due to fuel costs and not being able to get a stand pass at the last minute. To be honest though sorta glad i didnt there where some pretty cool cars and the rallye register stand had some tastey 106's but in general i thought that sound systems where creepign back in. Also apart from ethros lovley 106 rallye on the concours stand wtf was that about the rest of those cars where aload of blingy shit no class wot so ever. Thought the layout was a bit poo too no clubs could really show off star members cars if you will. Kinda glad i left the beast home for sure then. Did wander over for a gander at ur lots cars and they are all very clean some nice cars about good to see an enthusiastic young bunch. Really do think we should get some rallye register and 106 owners action together and have our own meet somewhere and really try and get every member out.

I enjoyed the day, my first ever FCS I didnt know what to expect.

I wasnt very impressed by the trade stands to be honest, although I did buy a few things :D

I do regret not saying hello to you all, but I got a bit shy and you were all huddled up, I would of felt a right fool!

All in all a good day in my opinion just a shame about the organisation.

Pics to follow.

Definatly agree with that buddy - you should get the RR lot to come to our big national day at shakespeare raceway for some bbq's and beers

The rallye register as always seemed very friendly and a mature well organised club. I think I would have preferred it if our stand was next to yours LOL

this has been mentioned fuzzy do not worry. Yeah it wouldve made sense to get all the 106s together. Let me know when the meet is and i will drum up some members. You know what the rallye lot can be like lovley and nice but a tad turned off buy some younger members who cant afford any of the more exotic 106 range lol. I will be sure to bring my beasty to the next 106 owners meet if i am not working to bring a bit of batterd mental performance to the table. Where is shakespear thingy?

^^ yeah thats my feeling about the RR. In a 106 sense, very snobby! Not knocking their enthusiasm or their club as theyre all prity mature and knowledgeable people, its just i can see them really wanting to do much with our club which caters for the full range. After all, nothing wrong with 1.1's we've all been there

Weather could have been abit better, but at least it stayed dry!

Was good to put a few more faces to names and to catch up with everyone else.

I didnt bother with the food, rather spend a fiver on petrol than a burger!

Track looked alrite, god knows what the 'monster' trucks were all about but the jet man was quality :D

Well done to all the staff that made it happen and made it run smoothly, congrats to the award winners, and it was great to see everyone chipping into the raffle aswell to support the club!

Uploading my pics in abit when ive got a roast dinner down me!

15-07-2007, 06:35 PM
Yeah i understand your point the snobbyness is generally towards big sound installs though which i understand is not neccsarily fair but still arguably in the spirit of the club. Ideally we need a peugoet owners club, or just as me and fuzzy have discussed a 106 owners club with maybe model registers. Say as you would in a porsche club 924- carrera gt registers. It is half way there with 106 owners however i duno where this will go down well but due to the image of southend etc i dont see this as a good way of promoting our club. I mean not to boast but i could attend the se meet at southend on a sat or friday nite which ever it is and know full well my car is quicker than most things this side of a scooby down there. It is when people in cars drive faster than that cars capabilities when things get silly. I believe cruises and southend in particular encourgae this which is not good.

was a gud day getting to know more ppl from here but do agree on the shambles of the show brunters was definately better last year i wanted to go on the go karts agen lol, trade stands weren't the best ever but they did take my money lol, food was about as gud as eating a dead badger cos i ended up chuckin my 3quid burger away after 2 bites, and well done to nick for being sick on the club stand afer his "different" evening lol

joehow - sorry about this but im not understanding fully.
do you mean for the us and RR to get together as 1 club?? or have joint regional meets or joint yearly meets?
im a tad bit confused - as i have no idea of what has gone down today between the other clubs.

personally, i like this club how it is. yes itll get bigger over time, but it has a really nice, family atmosphere. forums like PGAC for instance which is what i was a member of until this site started, only like you if you have over X amount of posts and its hard for a newbie to get into the 'groups'.
everyone fits in straight away here.

As for saxp, why do you think I don't wanna be asscociated with them, bunch of chavvy morons!!

Wasn't impressed with the price of food. I know you go to these events expecting things to be expensive, but £5 for a burger is silly money. Slightly dissapointed at the trade stands, hopefully better bext time,

At least the weather held out and stuff.

all in all it was a bad day, saxp are general tits, so just let them get of with there shit.
as for the food, after a friend of mine braught a grease burger for £3 I decided to walk down to a local mcdonalds, turned out to a fairly long walk but worth it haha

I barely spoke to any of you guys, which I regret, Im just pretty shy and wearing tight jeans was a good choice haha

I left at 3 after food walk and took a steady drive home, I had a nice time in the end. I now also want a dimma wide stage 2 in white, with carbon fibre bonnet and boot :)

never been to a car show. didnt think it was took great organised.
had agreat day tho! stands were good. loads of different types of cars.
had a good poke around cars ive admired for ages.
and met the owners and chatted with all the pug1off owners. must have been there for over an hour speaking to paul with his 205, steve with the 2litre 106, ben with the 106 rallye and matt for a good 20 mins about my car, the twin v6 306 and the business.

had a lil chat with colin from pug performance. seems nice enough just dont like their work too much. love that 306 v6 smooth baby blue one though.
dont like Ecosse work. okay they are good at what they do, just not my scene. i bum pug1off and will be going there soon for work hopefully.

the stand was awesome. i was the shy one with black hair, black poloshirt and black gti right at the back. look lamed as mine still sits standard and is too high. nice to meet some of you.
got loads of pics so ill post them up after a nap. yawn. later. joe

This was my first experiance of a car show and i complelty agree with most peoples comments. The oganisation was poor and me my gf and her ten year old bro were nearly flattened on a number of occasions (5mph my arse) while walking around the venue. all the 106's looked mint i was well impressed and recognised loads of cars from this site! Trade stands were a bit poor i was dissapointed with what ecosse had to offer (although i blagged free stickers) woooo!:p However there were far to many saxos about - quickly got bored of seeing them and as far as the food goes, i think my £5 burger was originally made form processed roadkill!! The best part of the day was watching the cars bomb it round the track i now seriously want a stripped out 106 GTI!
didn't really meet anyone from here which i regret but i was feeling a tad shy and felt a bit akward as i didn't want to walk up when u lot were in big groups. Overall i had a good time and spent very little cash too:D

I got back about an hour ago, and im actually dead. Getting up at 6 was definately a shock for me!!
I can understand peoples comments but in all fairness what is a car show all about? You take your car, park it, chat to people and look at their cars, and thats what everyone was able to do. What exactly needed to be organised? The shows inside the raceway were alright, but i didnt go for them in the first place.
In general, i really enjoyed drinking last night and having a really good laugh, and i enjoyed being able to talk to other enthusiasts that enjoy modding their cars in relatively similar ways.
People mentioning the models... yeah, they were pretty rank, and that fat girl who had her arse hanging out was BUTTERS. But did it actually ruin anyones day? i should hope not....

Was great fun either way, and everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Priveleged to have met everyone (or most people anyway...)

EDIT - nick chundering - major highlight. LOL

Yeah have to agree on those points Chris. The only thing for me (mainly) was the price of the food. It was ridiculous. Other than that, I got what I actually went for - To meet like minded people into their pugs (and, er, a VTS;))

Well... here we all are....exhausted is an understatement. Just reading through all your comments and summarys of the day... not left much for me to say.
My first car show however... although tragic....it luckily it hasn't put me off!

Cheers to the boys who so kindly let me convoy with them :) Wasn't sure if the little 1.1 was set to keep pace with the 'big kids' lol... but I managed...!
Cheers again for tolerating my 'flapping' over the previious days regarding tickets and stand pass etc.....
Typical Zo ... LastMinute.Com style

I figure we're all gonna sleep well tonight.. I've already had two naps since getting in... Already day dreaming about all the cool little bits n bobs i could do with a higher spec and more money lol *sigh*

I'm holding out to take 'the best' from the uploaded photos... :P

I probs made some remark to a few faces but as a few others have said..i regret for not making myself get to know ppl a bit better! Further meets will bring us closer eh lol

Had a fucking wicked weekend to be fair!

Car was detailing for 6 hours Saturday morning and I was MORE than happy with the results of that! Then Ferg 106 came round and stopped at mine to save him hotel costs or leaving silly early on Sunday! Spent the rest of the day cleaning Oli's car while Ferg worked on his! Saturday night went to the hotel, met a few new people and had a laugh, especially at Nick! Haha!

Wicked turnout today aswel, shame we didnt have the 72 people mentionned though? Everyones car's looking very nice! Met a fair few people ive never met before and had a laugh with those I had met! Nice to meet James at long last after our msn antics! LOL

For a saxo Peedee, that is sweet!

Well done to those who got awards, all very much deserved!

After all, nothing wrong with 1.1's we've all been thereNot me - smallest motor I ever owned was my mkII astra GTE (1800) and mkI carlton (1800), which was my first car - I felt like the gaffer, but probably looked more like some 17 year old herbert trying too hard to look cool in grandpas cast of motor, which I was! Either way, i knew that flying around at car events trying to impress 12 year old girls was even less cool.

I don't count the 107, cos i bought tht for my other 'arf.

Which is amazing - apparently we had a few over 60 stand passes sold, but with the usual break downs and things I am absolutely over the moon with 52 cars

I think we were definatly one of the biggest stands this year, and as has been said the atmosphere and the people on this club... well I couldnt ask for anything better

I am so pleased with how the paint work has come up on it...

Im aiming to have it to a simular standard as Steves next year... ambitious I know!

Amen to that, in my opinion that applies to any event, its the people that make it, not going to have much fun with a handful of boring people at the end of the day, thats why i love this club so much as everyone is friendly and up for a laugh :D

Yeah, saw them in the underpass. Extrenely wary of blokes that dress in women's clothing for 'fun'. They just use it as an excuse to walk around in women's lingerie! Isn't there a pic of you in your missus' underwear Phil?;):D

I'm gonna apologise now for not getting to meet anyone! I got there little later then usual, watched some of the show bought a couple of things and then got a phone call to say my nana was in intensive care and had to leave before i had chance to come over!

I really wanted a membership pack as well!

I wasn't impressed with the lay out or the 'show' but all your cars looked lovely, of what I saw of them!

Sorry, once again :(

well, all in all, i had a good day!
sure...there weren't enough trade stands, the refreshments were overpriced and disgusting, and there were more ar*e-faced models than you could shake a stick at....but lets remember the important things here:
* the weather held out, and it was dry all day - no mean feat considering the weather we've had of late
* for a club thats only been running since the beginning of the year, our stand ROCKED!! the fact it was the 1st national show the club had attended, i reckon we should be proud of the effort everyone put in to make it there
* (I'm speaking for myself here, as I've never met any-one off here till this weekend) We all got to meet each other and put faces to the names of the people we talk to on a regular basis. I for one had a fab night saturday down the pub, and I reckon we got a great bunch of people in this club.

GOOD SHOW CHAPS!!

I had such a great weekend.... We were the happiest bunch of people there, cos we're all so nice and friendly! My legs hurt like **** from walking about a hundred miles selling fookin raffle tickets, as soon as i sat down i had joe dragging me off again to go and sell to some saxslo's.
Everyone's attitude yesterday was great and totally made the day for me.

As for you PGAC lot that didnt tell us who you were and made me look like a right prick... lol.... i'll get ya!

Saturday night was 'immense' (;)) and i had a brilliant time. I apologise to Raz for over entusiastically 'patting' him around the face  and throwing some left over drink at him.... oh and for painting Phil's nails..... but in my defence there was absolutely no fight.... and he was quite attracted to his new feminine hand ;):p

Peedee, you did meet me mate, you probably just didnt recognise me due to the fact i dont actually look like ryan dunn :P
i asked "your raceland doesnt say 106 on it does it?" and you turned it over and it said vts, to which i replied something along the lines of "cool stuff". you also said to my your evo sport was a similar design to the BMC.

ring any bells? =]
