headunit problem

hi i fitted a headunit into my girlfriends y reg 1.1 and within a week the brand new battery was dead. i unplugged it and it has been fine for 2 weeks, the haedunit worked fine in her old l reg 1.1 did the wiring change with the model any ideas cheers j

You've got the red and yellow wire joined together? Is the headunit switched off when you turn the ignition off?

the headunit was off when ignition was off.i used the connectors that came with unit cheers j
