if ur puting rear speakers in (i.e. in the parcelshelf, first position your speakers and attach the wires to them then lead the wires down the passenger side of the back bench the left the door seals up to pull the carpet back, put the wires under the carpet then bring the wires behind the glovebox and up to the radio.

hope that helps!

have a look in the cd player manual, or the log book or something... i did this with mine... you just need to snip a few of the wires and join them up to your speakers using bullet connectors, just have a look to see where to connect left and right rear audio:D

were ther not instructions as to which colour wires (2 x violet and 2 x green) are needed? they were on the top of my head unit, but you got it sorted anyways! lol

hi guys, I have a zest2 1.1 2000 model that doesn't have rear speakers. I'm wanting to put 6x9s in the back and am looking to wire it up myself.

behind the rear side panels I have found two connectors, one each side that I think may be for rear speakers. I have provided images.

http://www.lumison.co.uk/~agow/left.jpg (http://www.lumison.co.uk/%7Eagow/left.jpg)
http://www.lumison.co.uk/~agow/right.jpg (http://www.lumison.co.uk/%7Eagow/right.jpg)

the haynes manual says that there should be a yellow wire and a white wire for the rear speakers but what are the other wires for?

thanks, ally.

hi guys.

I worked it out.

the yellow and white wires are the + and -, I pulled the stereo out and looked at the iso and matched it up with the pinout from my pioneers manual,

was actually dead easy, hardest part was cutting the parcel shelf with a stanley.

Well chuffed.

Here dunno if this helps at all, i made it after installing a sony MEX into my 106 and changed all the wiring cause i hated the cheep crappy ISO adapters.

does anyone know if a 106 independence 1997 has a connecter behind the panel?

what the red conneter?
I think only the ones before 1996 had that red connecter, the '96 + 106's should have a standard ISO connecter.

well, the 2000 1.1 zest2 does.

it's really easy to pop the back panel off. two screws with a t25 star head.
pop the back seats down, pull off the plastic bit at the side of the parcel shelf then you can just pull the panels off, the seatbelt is fed through it though so be careful.

no harm in trying.

i have a 3dr 1.5 xl and it doesnt have any rear speakers and ive been looking for any loose wires for them so i can put 6x9's in but cant find them.

are they behind te panel next to the parcel shelf cause i havent taken that off yet only looked in the behind driver seat door and there isnt much in there, or am io wasting my time cause they dont have spare wires for that model?
sorry if this question has been answered loads of times, i cant find the answer that worksyet :s

zest2 doesn't have rear speakers, but it does have the wires behind the panel where the back doors would be. Failing that you'll need to run the audio cables you get with your 6x9s along the floor of the car (easier to do it just on one side if your cables are long enough) and up through the dash to where the iso connector is. rear speakers are the top left and bottom left for the left speakers and top and bottom right for the right speakers.

see pictures earlier in the thread for what my cables look like.
