There is a suppressor in the engine bay - if thats knackered you'll get the whine through your stereo

You can get an RCA surpressor that fits behind the deck and does exactly the same but you need to wire it to an earth as well

I'm not aware of a suppressor installed in the charging circuit - it's all normally taken care of within the alternator circuitry. There is a suppressor on the ignition system, wired directly off the ignition coil or coil pack depending on the model of car/ignition system. I can't tell you where it is located for the separate ignition coil (it should be easily traceable from the wiring) but, for coil packs, it is located on a bracket bolted to the far left hand mounting bolt for the coil pack itself - it's a small rectangular black box containing a 2.2uF capacitor. The first check should be to see if it is located and earthed properly. It looks as if it is moulded onto the ignition cable loom so if it requries replacing it may require that particular loom to be replaced ........... it probably isn't sold separately. If not then perhaps a visit to a breakers yard to source a second hand one is in order together with a bit of cutting and splicing to insert it into the wiring loom.

ALOT easier just to buy 1 of these than muck around with looms.

i would deffinatly start with your earth sand the paint back to metal on the the earthing point.

What equipment are you running. set headunit etc

i fink it was a dodgy earth, some of the wire had come out of the ring connector n it wasnt makin very good contact, stil gettin a little interference but mite try one of those suppressor boxes. i got a jvc avx2 the one with the 3.5inch screen. blackbox 2 amp x 2 infinity 6x9s and coaxials, not exactly the best best but i fink it all sounds good apart from the damn squealy noise i sumtimes get. my parcel shelf isnt an acoustic one n well i was finkin rather than buy an acoustic shelf i mite get sum of those 6x9 box enclosures wat does everyone fink of them?
