sub or compnents?

i've recently removed the 12" sub i had in my boot as it weighed as much as a small hippo. the problem is i do kinda miss it as my components arent really up to much. question is do i buy i new sub that's smaller, say 10 inch so it aint as heavy ordo i uprate all my components.

i love my music, but never really used my sub to it's full potential, hence why i wud prob get a smaller 1 to replace it. was just wonderin if i cud get decent sound quality and decent base with good components all round, or wud i need a sub really? wat wud u lot do?

u wunt stand a chance of gettin slightly close to the same base as u wud from ur sub m8..so id just get a smaller sub or sumat.only other suggestion is sum 6x9s but even still they wont really compare to a sub.top notch components will giv ur crystal clear sound but u wont get no killer bassdrops from any 13cm speakers..lol

Yes no component system will give you sub bass. i run a pair of 8's in my mini that don't cost the world.

What sub did you take out of the car?
Whatamp did you have to power it?

Mounting your front comps on a solid platform on the door and using skinz sound matt and wave diffuser would enhance mid bass though.
