User Control Panel (userCP) on top . on the left you will see a list choose Edit Options then scroll down to messages & notifications and under the

Default Thread Subscription Mode
select : NO email Notifications

Thats the DEFAULT thread subscription, which means that when you create a thread it wont subscribe you to it

When you subscribe to a thread it overwrites that setting and sets you up for email notifications

I'll look into it but im not sure you can subscribe to a thread without receiving email notifications :(

What even though i select no email notification??? seems a bit pointless having that option then if its overwritten...

on user CP, go on 'subscriptions' (not the paying yearly subscription one. and delete any threads u dont wanna be subscribed too and you wont get any more emails. then when u post from now (and selected no email as default) you may be ok.
sorry if youve done this and its pointless to you
