as the '97 Ph2 1.5 D has no water temp gage or tachometer i was wandering would it be difficult to fix racing style ones?
Regards, Andy
as in seperate guages? not as dificulat as you'd think i do beleive as most of the sensors are there already to provide your ecu and warning lights with information. i know myu water temp guage was a peice of piss to fit. i'd also recommend a voltmeter as 106 alternators are prone to failing.

really, i was expecting it to be some sort or deadly mission to wire? had anyone fitted a tacho to there car (1.5D lol) its just when u turn ur radio up past 10 n its goes to 50 lol you can hear nothing? n its very difficult to drive.
The other gages i've been told at work are pretty simple to install, tho im sure some of you kind people on here will be of assistance?
i'd be also worried that all theese gages might be bad looking tho im not sure will the like of GTI clocks work?
Regards Andy
i'd say no, gti clocks wont work, and the redline is about 3k too high. wiring in a tacho may be a nightmare too. i'd jsut learn to drive on feel, or turn ya radio down

Don't think any of the diesels had a tacho . The pin on the ecu that should drive it (pin 6) is missing on mine :(, although it may be there on an S2? If you work out how to fit a tacho some other way please let me know as i'm stuck atm.

I know it's a saxo but the car in this (http://youtube.com/watch?v=jBn7yaRC-40&mode=related&search=) video has one so it must be possible....maybe lol. Here's hoping anyway!

Haven't got a piccy atm. I will try and get 1 soon but, if you look in the engine bay, on the left inner wing (as you look at it) bout half way front to back there is a black/grey box with a dirty great 7 pin connector on the underside. This is the (very primitive) ecu that looks after the glow plugs and switches the fuel pump etc. You will have to unbolt it to get a look at the underside. It only has the one 7 pin connector. Unplug the connector to get a look at the pins. According to Haynes, pin 6 should have a tacho signal on it. Its just blanked off on mine i.e. pin isn't there :( Might be there on yours though
