Well Lacey saw it coming and I fancied a moan as well ::)
I work as Admin Assistant (aka Office Monkey :( ) in a solicitors firm. Just do exactly the same every day, Monday to Friday, 8:30 til 5:00 :( Its just so tedious I nealy fall asleep at my desk sometimes. As for the pay - it's rubbish (£5.25 an hour I think it is) and not enough to clear my debts, my overdraft and to fund work on my car. Trouble is I'm doing a Lands End to John O Groats run at the end of March and that'll make me even more skint :(
Just can't wait until October to start training as a driving instructor :)
OK rant over!

im a technical engineer for quite a big IT firm in the midlands, always moaning about my job but i get it quite easy.
in the office for about half a day a week on average, the rest of the time im out and about on my own agenda!
some long days, some short days just depends how it all goes :)
now for example ive had a local job this mornin so ill take my lunch at half 10 and go to my next job at 1-2pm, finish that then come home!
pay is alright!

Well Lacey saw it coming and I fancied a moan as well ::)
Lol!
Well..... I'm a medical secretary for the NHS. I'm sat at work in my coat cos we currently have no heating.... again! Oh and i'm not a good people person and yet i have to deal with sick people everyday. I work 8-4 and that means getting up at six and sitting in the wonderful traffic... my favourite part of the day! oh and everyone i work with is old.... im the only yound one... and i get pervy people telling me my skirt is too short.... im like 'you're 60, u shouldnt look!' yeah so.... that little rant will do for now altho im sure i'll have more to say as people piss me off further throughout the day.

I work 8-4 and that means getting up at six and sitting in the wonderful traffic... my favourite part of the day!
Ditto that one! :(
I get up at 6 and leave the house at 7, which means I get into work about 7:45 (I don't start til 8:30), but if I left at 7:30, I'd sit in traffic and be late in >:( Just can't win
I'd rather be sat in the office on the tinterweb than stuck in the car in traffic though ;)

SAME AS! Although I get up at six, leave at 7, then i'm only stuck in traffic for half an hour instead of 50 minutes like if i leave at half 7.... journey should only take 15 mins max.... grrr! so i get into work at half seven and then everyone else rolls in at about 20 past 8..... who says the NHS is going down hill eh???!

guess im lucky if i have to go to the office its only a 15min drive through backroads.
get stuck behind the odd school bus though :)
traffic does my head in though, especially in the mornings.

i'm a superviser in m n s on the moter way, tis shit at this time of year cause people don't travel so there is **** all for me to do, and i cant give the assistant's any jobs cause there aint any at the mo, but to make the days even longer the general manager has decided that we should open 45mins earlier than 8 and shut half an hour later than 10 so the day is twice and long and as a superviser we don't have enough time to get the paoerwork done fuckin shite like
and i'm on lates this week so 3 till 11 :'(

That sounds a bit crap really - glad I never had a job like that. Closest I had was working in a shop on the local Haven holiday camp. The managers there were all into this "team" stuff and all "happy clappy". Drove me nuts! >:(
But I did get to take home the leftovers (sausage rolls and other savories) from the bakery every night ;D

I'm a web developer
Nothing massively wrong with my job except its close to minimum wage, under appreciated blah blah
Been doing e-commerce sites for 6 years now and could write one in my sleep
I could take a £10 a week pay cut and shelf stack in tescos - its starting to look tempting!

That's what I was thinking - or going back to the holiday camp. It was decent pay, I just couldn't stand their "everyone here loves their job" attitude
I loved my first job the best - working for a classic Jaguar restoration company. All I did all day was cover E-types, XKs and even the odd D-type in layers and layers of wax. Hmmmmm, drool! 8)

I got really sick of IT a year ago and got a job car valeting
Best thing I ever did - just stood around getting sun burnt washing and waxing cars
Every so often got a detailing job which I loved
Hours were good, people were all a great laugh
Come and go when you want
And I lost 3 stone in 6 months and started to look REALLY fit
Now I'm back to suffering back aches from sitting around all day and not very happy with my body cos i've lost a lot of the muscle I used to have :(

You've REALLY dated the wrong men
I care a lot more about whether I can talk to a woman and get on with her, than how she looks
BUT the problem is - when you chat women up on a night out unless your fairly decent looking they turn you down and never get to know if you're a nice guy
I live with a bloke who's really fit but treats women like shit - and he pulls 10x as often as me

digress off topic once again..... well yes, twats like me tend to date the nob heads cos they're cocky and exciting, even though you know you shouldn't... lol but its just fun... anyway, having been with the last bloke, im steering clear of men altogether for a while and when i get round to looking for someone next time im gonna be a bit more careful and maybe go for someone who is kind and not a psycho??! thats always good, so if your looking for a girl go for the crazy messed up chicks who have had a shit of a boyfriend!

I've worked there over 5 years now part time, in that time we've had 25+ managers and still the place is poop only stayed while i was at uni n sixth form, cos its literally 5 mins from home!
The only decent thing about it is cheap booze lots of freebies and good social events.
Ill be seriously glad to leave, but if i said im looking forward to the rat race.....
Might take up a position with my Italian heritage - commission based pay, variety of locations, company car ... ;D

When i leave I'm scarred shitless I'm not gona get a good job (don't even have a clue what I want to do), as my girlfriend wants to rent a house and I need some serious money (well okish money) to be able to afford that when she'll be at Uni for another year. Scared, scared, scared.

bit late but just noticed this thread.
i work in a call center for helping children with maths and English.
i work 2 to 8.30 with a lunch and a tea brake.
i don't really like it, i seem too have it easy really don't have too get up to about 12.30, 5.40 and hour and £10 if i get a sale and have Wednesday off.:)
But who really enjoys there job when your young?

i must have one of the best easiest jobs ever & i hate it!!!
im a receptionist at the vets a 10min walk away.
its great as i dont have to drive.
the work is easy, i can go it whilst sleeping. but im not appreciated & i deserve a better job with better pay. i asked my boss for a payrise but he said no as im the highest paid receptionist hes got. my argument was that im the best hes got & im worth more.
im on £6.50 an hour, but i want more as i do enough work for 3 people!!!!
the hours arent too bad, 8.30 - 6.30 tues-fri but we dont get brakes or lunchtimes. you have to eat whilst working, so its a case of grabbing a bite of a sandwich every now and then and my brake is when i spend 2 mins having a wee.
ive applied for a few jobs lately, but havent heard anything back, but the dealines were last Friday for most of them. so plenty time yet.

well i love my job lol im a part time welder and metal fabricator (until i finish college then full time), good fun lol £7.50 an hour not bad for 16.:D
Man that sucks
I only work 9-5.30
phil you lucky man i'd give my right arm for normal hours i work a week of 6-3 then a week of 1-10 and i have to be up for 4.50 when i'm on 6-3
i spend most of my day sat on a forklift in the pissing rain or in a freezing cold warehouse on an order picker putting pallets away or picking boxes,i'm over worked under paid and treated like shit because i'm the youngest and my supervisor hates me :(
and to add insult to injury the job i applied for the other week was given to one of the companies own hgv drivers because the guy has been declared medically unfit to drive hgv's and because the greedy c**t wont retire even though he can afford not to work

Well gonna have a right fucking rant now :o
need a new job probably like a lot of people lol, but sick to death of one rule for one and a totally fifferent for another. People beneath me not doing as i ask then when i tell them as i'm sick of waiting for a job to be done they get right bitchy with me. why should i have to do everything when i'm a superviser and allready have to make sure the shop runs smoothly with out them standing there doing sweet F A.
and to top it off me manager has been away for nearly 3months busy working, so the top superviser has been acting manageress and she has had it bad but because my manager didn't get the new job he wanted aparently he is coming back being a complete new guy mainly a b******.
he has allready put me on different shifts because i work roughly the same as ste week of 6-3 and week of 3-11. but now he has got me on opposite so i won't see much of ste as i work weekends and he don't :( :( And ive worked every bank holiday for the last 3years and overtime to get extra money as i get triple time but he has gave me some off so i won'd get it boohoo.
sorry for the rant gys and gals :o

Oh my god....... It took me about an hour to find this!!!
I hate my job sooooo much.
Basically, i'm sub-contracted to another company and I work for them and the company that pays me (obviously) the sub-contractors are sending most of our work out to India as they can do the work for haldf the price. But what they are findin out is that its half the quality.
I keep getting overlooked for all the good jobs even though I've done more work for all this Indian take over than anyone else. Its pisses me off.
I'm not coming back here after christmas end of, I'll temp in Blackpool if necessary until i get a contract cos i cannot stand the bitchiness that goes on and if your not up the bosses arse then you get nowhere. Pfft. What happened to getting rewarded for hard work?!

For that, I have to spend all of my weekend clearing out fish tanks (I work in a place called aquajardin which sells you the fish to put in your aquarium), I ahve to constantly get rid of dead, moulding fish, I have to clean the tanks some more, then clean out the system that it runs on, clean the tanks some more.... I hate it. And you get some proper assholes come in :(
Yet I have a friend who has a £9 an hour job doing basically **** all who moans that he has a hard job and no money

because of work ... I can't go out in my the area I work without being wary, I only get two weekends off in 5 so my social life suffers. I work a varity of shifts which means my body clock's always wrong, I can never get time off when I want it, I'm put in dangerous, confrontational situations on a daily basis, I get no respect from the public despte doing a fucking difficult job, I'm not trusted to do my job by those in higher ranks who like to walk me through jobs despite me being more than capable of doing it and thinking for myself.
All that said though ... I still enjoy it (most of the time) and theres not another job I'd consider doing

Just read through this thread...
First thing, Rallye James :( feel sorry for you on £5.25 an hour. I do 12 hours a week at sainsburys, am under 18 and get £5.60 odd an hour. That goes up when im 18 and when i finish off my supervisor training.

good job it's only one day a week

Welcome Break Woodhall in KFC LOL!!
18 - £5.70 an hour wank you get your breaks when they feel like it, always understaffed, over worked. Last weekend they crammed 25 hours in 4 days when I have college on two of them days.. Not bad people alot of back chatting but you laugh at them fools.
I need an apprenticeship and to do my HNC next year so I don't have to put up with more customers!!
i hate my job cos i have to work all night and i hardly get to spend any time with my girlfriend, which sucks. i dont get paid enough to cover my past financial **** ups and we always get shit on by the rest of the company cos we're not there to defend ourselves.
HOWEVER, i'm lucky enough to work with a bunch of top lads, we have a really good laugh most of the time and their all salt of the earth working class hero's. i get to go early some times if i make my hours up on busy days and i never get in trouble with my supervisor. personell know i'mthe best on my shift which is why despite four or five warnings i still have a job. also the lads have now said they want me to be in charge. but obviously my supervisor would need to leave and i want a new job anyway, but for some reason i'd miss em and couldnt ask for a better bunch of lads

I didn't hate my job at the time of this thread, but over the year it got so bad i really wanted to keep on driving past work!I went an applied for another job (on the next pay scale up), which thankfully i got! Really like my job and the people i work with now as we have a good laugh. I dont think i could ever stay in a job i hated. It's just not worth it. Although sometimes difficult to see a way out.
As for everyone saying about Sainsbury's, well i did 5 years there working customer services (last couple of years as a supervisor). Taught me a lot, but working with lots of idiots and kids who couldnt give a **** pisses you off. Sainsbury's certainly didnt give much of a toss about you or your personal development either. My friend stayed on and made manager and now hates it!
