Since they have changed the look of the mag, it seems to me like they have only been featuring cars that cost the same as my parents bloody house. And they dont feature cars that are based on style.......just performance. It really annoyed me when i brought this month copy......the closest thing i could even dream of creating was a fecking stripped out hardcore 306 designed for speed!! It just isn't the same anymore!
Anyone else noticed this?

max power is awful anyway all fibreglass and no go usually or cars that cost 100,000 pounds, full of shiute really , there is performance gti or french cars its caled now i think
Max Power have tried re-branding, so they are no longer "Chav". Although now IF you pick it up you can guarentee that on the front cover will be JAP blah blah blah. That no one that used to read the mag could afford! All the readers are getting annoyed with it now though, especially as they are rarely featuring British cars, all Jap, American etc, and I believe that their sales are dropping!
I don't mind though, it is a shit mag!

I'm close-ish to some of the staff at emap, and they're working hard to include every type of modifying. they can. Personally I think its a big ask, but they're doing well so far IMO.
A few of you have said its about cars with all show and no go, or cars that cost the world, but in this months, or last months, mag there was a lime green old school mini with a 2 litre red top in it, all done by the owner and the guy he originally bought the car off. A few months ago there was also a 'lowrider' feature which was pretty cool.
Max Power isn't specialized to a single marque, or a single type of modifying, it instead tries to cover as much as it can, which I personally think is a good thing.
And, as a final note, you'll all notice if you read a new issue, the chav element is going out of the things they're writing, they had a big change round of staff and it is improving.

it used to be really awesome to buy, i still got evil looks from women behind the counter but hey, i get fast car free so i dont complain lol but max power aint what it used to be :(
IMO Max Power is trying to be something it is not! Max Power will still have the image that it had last year for a good couple more years. It is trying to include all types of modifying and in doing so is loosing the high majority of its reader base to Fast Car and Redline! They may be gaining more readers who are not "chavs", however in most shops I have noticed that Max Power always has the most copies on the shelf out of the three mentioned above!

It's called Max Power - it should be more about powerful performance cars, not 1.1 Corsas with tonnes of fibreglass stuck on them
i think rallye_james might have a good point there ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

i bought max power's very first issue i remember the project cars that were actually decent cars , they used to feature manta gte's with redtops and v8's in em proper cars, but slowly it turned into a fibregash mag just like fast car, to be honest an english mag shouldnt be full of other countries cars, maybe a monthly feature of 1 like but not fill the mag, it should be about the cars we as a nation are building as its us who read them , i for one will say this , max power will have to drastically change if its going back to its roots

they restyled max power with a less chav and more legal. and more broader variety of cars and features. great idea but wasnt executed too well. ill give it a chance and wont not buy it out of principle. if theres something i like, ill buy it whether its max power, fast car, redline. max power is the best. had that gti6 turbo engined standard street sleeper 205 from pug1off a couple of issues ago. brilliant car and feature. but they do need to get rid of the jap and usa stuff. im sick of 'record breaking skylines' and 'ferrari kitted mr2's'
but give them a chance

I used to get Max power about 5 years ago now. Stopped buying it as the cars were just getting ridiculous and started buying another mag that was more interesting and featured cars not jailbait or "models"!
I agree after flicking through a Max recently that its definitely gone downhill in my opinion but there must still be a market otherwise it wouldn't be printed!
