Hey,

Whats a decent alarm for the 106?

If you have an alarm, what kind do you have and does it really work? :P

Thanks.

I have toad and its the mutts nuts! Ai606. Cant fault it for the price! £220 fitted, id have needed to pay £350+ for a Clifford with the features of mine :-\

No false alarms with my toad, and also gots a smart led, tells you what the alarm is doing, can add modules easy too as they are connector blocks.

By the way, Clifford are actually made by Directed electronics who also make Viper, Avital & Hornet systems using the same technology.

So it may be worth while looking at the lower priced brands, i know bass junkies and other fitters often use viper components combined with Clifford.

Either toad or clifford. For just under £300 whats a decent one with good features?

Mine was £220 fitted with insurance certificate.

Features

2 point immobiliser plus works in conjunction with original factory immobiliser and transponder key.

Alarm disarm with optional tone

interior light illumination on unarm

operates central locking, optional boot release and total closure

smart LED indicates alarmed, immobilised, alarm problems, doors/boot opened or armed and source of trigger

auto locking of doors when car is started with anti lock out feature

valet mode/pet mode where alarm can be set to protect car without false alarms

expandable system for use with other toad add ons such as dual stage shock sensor, dual stage microwave sensor, attempted glass smash sensor, total closure and boot release.

sounds like puggingquik has a fair beast of an alarm system :D
mines a clifford/avital maxx2. its a decent alarm, has the same features of pq's but it was more expensive.
had a few probs with it recently though, going off randomly, its stopped doing it so much now.
i must say theyre great but annoying for simple things.
example - got a friend in the car, you go to fill up your petrol and you have to tell him to get out aswell because the alarm will self arm. The only way i can disable my alarm without it resetting is by having the key in ignition and turned so battery is running or by having a door open...
kinda sucks

Chap pretty sure you can get that programmed, its like pet/valet mode. I just press my 3rd button before leaving the car and it disarms interior sensors but still allows immobiliser to arm. Speak to audio security store DONT GO TO HALFRAUDS :P :P

i got a clifford concept 650 on the saxo. it has black jax (you have to put a code into the alarm every time you open a door so it knows its you and not a theif.) glasss sensors. tilt and motion (so you can't lift the car and my alloys are protected), plus the usual stuff like remote central locking and dual immobilisers. my 106 has a toad ai606. with interior sensors remote central locking and immobiliser, shock sensor. happy with both alarms.

If its one of the earlier models, could be up to 7-8 years old :-\

I never really recommend stuff just in case some one gets the dodgy one but in this case, i cant see you going wrong for the money with the toad ai606. At the time i was looking/bought mine it was the only alarm under £300 that i couldn't find a bad review for.

Guess its like anything though, one bad experience n you'll steer clear...

Just like me n Pirellis, i wouldn't have em if you give em me!
