Just fitted my new cd player and when I turn it off and then back on it resets everything, my old cd player did the same. As it got to dark to take the cd player back out and check the memory wire, just wondering is this the only problem it could be the memory wire not being connected?

Cheers Jamie.

yeah sounds like it mate, just got to make sure its got its own power supply, so you dont wipe the memory everytime u turn off the ignition

On my 106 there are two wires for power, a blue and a pink. One is the switched power supply and one is the constant.
Multimetre them and check if they go into the right places on your headunit. If not swap them over at the block, or splice them etc to swap them over.

That was the problem on mine with a JVC KD-LH811. May be the same with you.

Most new stereos have a plug for both the live and ignition wires that you need to swap around, on the jvc one i have it is a yellow wire and a red wire.

As said you need it wired up so it works with the ignition off aswell as on.

At the moment it shouldnt switch on when the ignition is turned off?

Always had mine wired up the way you have now so the battery cant be drained if it gets left on and passengers cant piss about with it while your not in the car.

u dont havto have it wired up so it works wth the ignition off just for the memory to save ,if thts wot ur meanin..mine doesnt work with the ignition off and it saves all its memory.like as said above on the aftermarket loom.it will b a red and yellow wire which should be on bullet conectors so u can just literally swap em over. eg red to yellow and yellow to red tht will sort it for definate.
