thinking of trying an MDF build for my sub equipment, does any one know the measurements of a 106 boot? thanks guys

Easiest way is to take the black vinyl carpet out the boot and use it as a stencil on the mdf :)

any tips on how to make a good yet basic build?

I started with a false floor for the amp which I made with 28mm MDF - using the carpet as a template, a bit off the end where the seats go to compensate for the angle of the seats

Then stuck some wooden blocks to bottom to lift it up

After that you can make holes for amps and work out where you want your box and cut a square in the floor and drop the box in to stop it moving around

If you want something more fancy like a custom box etc.. you're better off speaking to plush, jonny or dargs :)

I got all my MDF from local focus - only cost about £20

I've moved this to the ICE forum as you might get better people notice it there :)

As Fuzzy said get the mdf from focus/homebase, ul have to buy a sheet so its best to know the sizes of what you want and then get them to cut it up, saves you work in the long run ;)

(i usually draw out all the bits on paper with the sizes and then work out how ul fit it all onto the mdf)

as for fixing it together, use wood screws and no more nails(or something alike) size of the screws obviosuly depends on what thickness wood you use etc.

No probs.

Sealed them with fibreglass gazz, probly wouldnt bother again though as glue does the job lol.

The mesh was for my front bumper mate, juat attched it with them pics for some reason lol.

Was quite punchy but didnt drop very well, managed 126.7db with it, that was only budget gear though really aswell.

Speak to plush automotive mate, they have some awesome products for good prices, and can advice you on a decent setup.. really depends how much your looking to spend.

lol was a couple of years ago gazz and i fancied ago at fibreglassin :p To be fair though if i hadnt of done it back then, my current install stuff probly wouldnt have turned out aswell :D
