Anyone got any info on tb's and cams??

Im thinking about getting them fitted but not realy sure on prices or which ones to buy:confused:

I no the engine doesnt idle very well with cams but can that be resolved by buying different types of cams or by chipping?

I want the engine to still be reliable but have a reasonable boost in power??

Any infoo?? Cheers

two main types of bodies that can be used.. wither direct to head (DTH) such as jenvey and kms - which are both pretty expensive.

or you can use bike TB which can be fitted by used a custom inlet manifold.. a few companys now make these. such bodies are GSXR1000, R1, R6 etc..

cams, seeing as you will be sitting bodies you can use pretty much any cams.. ranging from cat cam 708s or 809s...

you will need standalone management rather than a superchip.. like emerald, KMS, DTA etc.. and someone to map it..

once done you will have a reliable quick car.

price?

good set up prob about 2.5k - 3k.. more depending one what you have done.. e.g headwork..

Thanks for that mate:D

So if i spent about 2.5 - 3k and had the cwork carried out, what do you think the BHP will be at a gues?

Only thing i have done so far is Ecosse forced air induction kit, but im also looking into fiiting a 4-2-1 manifold and straight through pipe

Sounds good.

So would you reccomend the bike TB's to the DTH??

You said the DTH are more expensive, are they better than R1's etc?

have a look over on the rr, a bloke called sandy is doing a kit to turn gsxr 1000 bodies into dth style, that would be your best bet
