I am getting sick of trying to avoid idiots on scooters. I was driving along coming up to a corner when i get over taken by 2 kids on mopeds and they cut straight accross in front of the car about 10 meters from the corner. If anyone was turning into the road then they would have been run over. I hate it when i have to keep an eye out because it would be my fault if they got hit. Ive also been over taken as i am going past parked cars and they just swerve in between the cars that are turning or slowing down.

Ive not done a bike test but does anyone know if they get taught about the highway code as they are dangerous to other road users, especially at the distance they ride from the rear bumpers of other cars. I usually let them through if any are travelling in the opposite direction when there are cars on both sides of the road and i usually get the horn blown from the car behind but i ignore them now as its not them that would be in trouble for any accidents.

Anyway, rant over.

The little shites do get taught about the highway code and do a days training on the road. This is better than just getting on and going like the old systems and has reduced deaths but they are still just idiots. I had a scooter at 16 and had an accident as a result of a fiesta driver. They are generally morons, even when I was on one I could see that. Not all of them are, a lot of them are using it as a way to get to motorbikes, as I did and ride properly. Horrible little buggers to ride those scooters though.

Thanks for reminding me, I was going to rant about this yesterday

Some fat old bloke on a scooter was riding on my bumper through town. Then there was a car ahead waiting turn right, I could see there was enough room to go round the left hand side of the car so carried on. Then when I looked in the mirrors the scooter was gone  I turned around and looked out my passenger side rear window and the c**k was trying to get past and practically touching the car - if I hadn't looked for him I would have knocked him off. I had no choice but to slow quickly and let him by. Then I caught straight back up and overtook the moron again. Just couldn't believe what he was doing!

Yup they will learn one day. Kid in my area was killed by a taxi because the scooter guy was driving like a complete fool. He got hit, thrown into some railings and died. Its easily done.

Althought the friends of the boys then chased any taxi they saw from that company and threw bricks at it is another story.

Im feeling your anger.

I h8 idiots on scooters. Through Huddersfield theres a lot of bike lanes on the main roads which is perfectly fine except when ure sat at the lights and muppets on scooters come screaming up the inside in the BIKE lane and then cut right back in front of you into the full road width box that is left for bikes at the lights.
I had 1 idiot do this to me and when the lights turned green he couldn't out accelerate me and insisted on riding in the middle of my lane. I just lent on the horn all the way up the road behind him and then i moved out and passed him. He stayed behind me at the next set of lights :D

Its not just scooter riders but motor cyclists in general. I've ranted about this before.

They have no considertaion for any other road users, think they're invincible and think they have a different set of rules to everyone else including higher speed limits!

I absolutely can't stand bikers, a bunch of incosiderate pricks.

Thing that makes me laugh is when you get the modified mopeds... used to have a moped, and well i'd have had a good laugh at myself if i had've modified it lol :D

Moped riding teaches you a hell of a lot though, and helps your awareness no end.
