Will my car pass an MOT if the airbag light is on??

Hi,

Recently bought a 106 quiksilver as a 2cnd car for a run about but it's coming up for it's MOT and the airbag light is on. Will this be an MOT fail if the light is on when it goes for it's test?? If yes, how do i turn the light off??

It wont pass.

Its probably a dodgy connection under the seat to the seatbelt pretensioner. Look under the front seats and check the orange wire is scure, give it a wiggle. It this doesnt work you need to check the connectors to the buckle section (next to the handbrake). Easy to get to just need to remove the plastic cover with a tiny torx key :)

mines passed every year with the airbag light on!

Depends on the garage. My dash had a fault with the fuel gauge but passed. It all depends on the problem, whether its a major fault or not. But lights on the dash are obviously there for a reason to warn you of problems, i used to ignore mine LOL but ended up forking out lots of money for repairs.

shouldnt do , but its pretty easy to pull out the clocks and take he bulb out of the back tbh!

mine goes to Harrops in clevelys...

they told me that with me having an aftermarket wheel, they cant test something that isnt there!!

Cheers guys, i pulled my finger out and phoned my local garage and he said that it wont fail if the light is on. Happy days! :D

My air bag light was on and the garage told me the air bag may not work, a few weeks later i found out the hard way it did. By the way anyone know where i can get cheep parts from?
