now then peeps, i've noticed of late that my car is using more fuel than it should, but also doesnt seem as quick as when i first built her. originally i didnt have a breather on and it vented to atmostphere and i could taste the oil fumes in the back of my throat. now it has a pipe going from breather to catch tank and back to the intake set up. when i came off track at fcs i noticed the pipe was silly warm from the breather so obviously as this goes into the intake is it sucking in far too much warm air and not running as well as it could? any ideas?

aidy get a seperate little breather and put that on the header tank instead of letting it go back into the inlet.

mine goes into a catch tank

all the gas thats vented from the two breathers on the cam covers are piped into there.

your best off not returning to inlet really aidy as its only for emmisions really. if you block the small pipe off the rear cover also this stops oily crap getting in behind the butterfly and gumming up the icv etc

hmm ive got a little breather on mine and that doesnt stink? or smell at all to be fair? maybe its because i dont do short journeys?

you could pipe it into a catch tank and then run a long breather pipe up behind one of your wheel arches with a filter on so the smell goes out there? :p

for every 3-4 degree increase in intake temp you lose 1bhp or something like that

Vent to atmosphere.

You could reroute the catch tank to the far side of the bonnet to reduce the chance of fumes being sucked into the cabin

kam the catch tank is currently on the passenger side of the corss member next to my radiator. i dont think its physically possible for it to be further from the heater set up lol.

i may also lower my bonnet back down and see if the seal helps to stop the smell
