Engine Swap

Hi
im currently driving a quicky but want a gti

i would like to put some money into the current car getting more power out of it eg exhaust mani,carbs etc but the milage is very hi and becoming slighty unreliable

is there anyone that can tell me exactly what is envolved and how much am i realisticly looking at paying to have my pug converted to a gti profesionaly before i think of px'ing the quicky for a gti
