Northwest convoy to FCS

right guys FCS is little over 5 weeks away so i thought we start arranging a route down and meeting points so we can have a convoy down :)

whats everyones thoughts on this?


the rough route i've got planned out in my head is

first meeting point - Charnock Richards service station

second meeting point - Poplars 2000 lymm

then we have knutsford and sandbach serivces if its easier for anyone too meet at either?

third meeting point - keele services

then its off the M6 at junc 15 to head towards the M1 via the A50 and pick up the M1 at junc 24 down to junc 21 where we go along the A563 to get to the A6 which takes us past the oady travel inn where myself and shell are staying and will take everyone staying at market harbrough to thier travel inn aswell


also if we set off from charnock around 12-1ish possibly or do people want to go earlier or later?

just a heads up guys, its easier to get off the M1 at J20 to get to market harborough, 10 min drive rather than 25min drive through Leicester town if you get off at J21.

somebody can take my mobile number if you want better directions at the time, i live 5min from the hotel.

I think im going to travel early on in the morning, as i know a couple of people from blackpool leaving then, if you wanted to convoy down with us?

I will probably travel on the day, as i would like to spend the saturday prepping the car and checking it over first. If any plans change then i will convoy with you lot on the saturday. ( if i can get somewhere to stay that is )

most people are staying at market harbrough premier travel inn but its fully booked me and shell are staying at oadby premier travel inn but i'd just ring up and ask every now and again mike as cancellations tend to come up

right final route and meeting points are as follows

charnock richards services

lymm serivices

keele services

off the m6 at junc 15 and follow the a50 to the m1


as for times at the meeting points if we start at charnock at 12 and set off about 10 mins later meet up at lymm for 12.40 and set off at 1 then get to keele for half 1 and set off 10 mins later

what does everyone think to that? then depending on traffic we should get to the hotel between 3 and 4 taking it nice and easy

or do you want to go down abit earlier or later?

Convoy was really good... Shame we didn't have more... 3 Quickys and one Inde... Oh well; I did a whole day on exactly 3/4's of a tank and yeas I did but my foot down at times!!!
