It's my first post and all so excuse any noob comments and if its in the wrong place? I also know very little about cars.
Anyway, i have a 1.1 Independence XL 3 door hatchback.

When i first got the car neither the central locking or speaker works in the driver side door, but i only just realized that it might be connected in some way?
So the question is...are both the speaker and lock connect together in some way? fuse, wired together or close together e.t.c

Hope that all makes sense and any help is much appreciated :)

Hi, they're not connected as such, but the rubber piping that goes between the car and the door when it's open is where the wires go through into the door.
They might have been damaged in some way.
If theres a connector that's on the end of that piping, make sure it's connected properly. It might have got water in it and gone rusty.
Hope this helps, if not give me a shout and i'll try and help u.

I managed to have a quick look at the cable that goes from the car to the door, it looked like someone had messed with it before as it was attached cross threaded, but after i realigned it still no luck =/

hope that made some sense?

It sounds like someone's been messin with the wires and thats why the speaker and lock doesn't work, they may have cut wires for some reason.
You might have to get someone to have a look at it for you, and possibly re-wire the bits that don't work.
