I just booked my ticket now. I would highly recommend this to everyone. The last night was immense, one of the best nights i have ever had.

Full details & tickets can be found here.

This is just a heads up as i imagine slots will go pretty quick. Gord will more than likely post up an offical thread about it.

:)

Nah mate this one will do. You beat me to it !

30 cars max for this one too, so not half as busy as it was on Monday night.

If you believe you're a good driver then this is the chance to prove it to yourself. And, legal !! It is well worth the £70 + petrol just to have the experience. If you enjoy go-karting then I'd put my car on the line and say you'd enjoy this.

Yea i checked with Adam on the trackscotland forum and he says its definetly a maximum of 30 cars. (I'm sure you seen it)

Gord's right folks, the last one was my first time and i can say its like sex. Once you pop you cant stop :p

I got the bug at my first trackday and that was at Crail. Not a scratch on Knockhill. I've done 3 trackdays and had fun at every one.

PS I have upgraded front discs ordered AND these wheels for trackday ONLY:

They are gorgeous mate. How much they set you back if you dont mind me asking.

I always wondered, will you just stick them in the back of the car and change them over when you get there?

My car needs a lot done before this one. New brake fluid, pads, disk and hopefully upgraded calipers. Possibly get some track wheels too but we'll see how money is as off to Florida a few weeks after.

£150 notes !

I'll take them in my dads motor. I think he's gonna be driving at the next trackday so I'll need to leave them somewhere ! Hope they don't get stolen lol

I needs new discs, pads and braided hoses. Might go for dot 4 brake fluid too.

Nice one gord. I need to get new disks and pads for the rear and before sticking my new calipers on will probably get a some new pads and disks for them too.

I was hoping to do the trackday on the 18th of July aswell but funds won't allow :(

Gord

What calipers did you get ??

Easty-5
03-07-2008, 01:29 PM
Just 206 Gti jobbies. 266mm. They should be alrite :)

Gord
03-07-2008, 02:26 PM
Probably the same as 206 HDi I would imagine. And if so, you'll feel a great difference with them.

What pads did you get for the rear calipers ?

Easty-5
03-07-2008, 03:03 PM
Yea they are the same mate. Getting some braided lines for them and some upgraded fluid too so I'm hoping to feel a nice difference. Havent got any pads yet mate. Any recommendations?

Gord

Ferodo I put on mine and a lot better than the crappy standard shit.

I didn't have braided hoses on mine and I done 2 trackdays with the 106. Never got any problems.

Wouldn't spend much on the rear disks/pads, as they you'll find little difference in use. DOT5.1 and braided lines are worthwhile - but just use standard discs/pads on the rear.

Mintex 1144s/1155s or similar (Ferodo i think have DS2500/DS3000) for the front though :D

Gord

I wouldn't upgrade the rear discs either, but I would put pads on there.

Have you ever put Ferodo pads on the rear ? It makes a difference. Did in my car anyway.

TBH with HiSpec 4 pots and 283mm discs up front - my rear discs/pads hardly get worn at all. Think i've changed them once in 70,000 miles - and that was only cos the car was left standing still for 2 months outside - and they've still got loads of life left in them.

Probably depends on how much the brake bias is set up towards the rear mind you. Although i've never touched mine.

Forgot to add - i've put my name down for this one (as i know you were interested Gordo on when i was taking it up)

Although in saying that, wether i make it on the day is another matter - may end up selling the space. Depends if i get everything done that i want between now and then.

Gord's right, I'm hooked!!

Hoping to have at least 5 done by the end of the year. Hopefully the car will hold up. Need to change oil and all filters before the next one. As for a trip to the ring then hell yeah!!

Do you mean rich-gti? Was building the white Gti turbo? He is in Russia at the moment mate working.

He has the buzz !!

gord, he aint got the buzz! he`s just got a 106gti and has found out what its for! wish every1 knew, only a select amount of people actually find out how good these cars are at handling!

sure you get the chav in his 1.0 that says his can do 40mph around the roundabout outside tesco`s, but actaully pushing a scooby along around the windie`s is another experience in itself!

Gord

Very good point ! Nothing more pleasing than knowing the guy in his ££££ grand car has to slow down and let you past !!
