I dunno about the photoshoot opportunities but I'll take your word for it.

It's a big of a distance for the Aberdeen lot to travel though, and they seem to be the most active.

right enough i never really thought about distances for the further north lot... well how about arrangin the meets so that one time its really close for the northern people, next meet being really close for the west.. nxt meet in the east.. etc? giving different people from the forum who otheriwse wouldnt come because its too far or whatever the chance to come to a meet in their area... that way it isnt always in dundee.. nothin against dundee or the people from there!! I dont mind travellin about to come to the meets and then when we have one in edinburgh or close by its a bonus!..... we have ace roads anyway!!

Thats a good idea but I can see it being less than a handful of people at the meet. We don't have enough active members from the West to justify having a meet there every now and then. Edinburgh could be a good choice as theres a few active members just over the water ( Gregor and Ross come to my head )

I know it wasn't an official meet but the rolling road day at Ecosse was a hell of a distance from the 4 members that travelled from up north.

I just find with picking Dundee it's kinda central for us all, we all have to end up driving for an hour or so to get to the meet, and with it being a good turn out at the last one thats why I chose it again.

What about the next one being in Edinburgh or M&D's ? I can always try and get a meet organised and see if theres members willing to to go around this area.

The Showcase just before Coatbridge could be a good place too, theres bowling and arcades. As for photo opertunities I'm unsure of.

Yes it's crossed my mind about getting a stand for next years FnM, I reckon we could get atleast a dozen cars to attend. And I wouldn't want it just to be modded GTi's either !

Next year though, I'll look into it and get Fuzzy to send me the 106OwnersClub banner up. We might get lucky and get a dozen new members out of it.

Deek has managed to make the last 2 meets and he's from Glasgow side.

The thing is, these meets are only every few months or so. So you shouldn't really have any excuse not to drive up. You have a 40 minute drive to McDonalds where we meet up, get something to eat, say hello and then an easy 40 minutes convoy up . It's a great day out !

I've made the last couple of meet's as Gord said,

It's a good day out if you enjoy driving, I enjoyed the drive out to the dundee meet and also the part of the drive back as I was bursting for the loo about half way home, If I had cash I'd be off out to the next dundee meet, i might even still be just depends,

If I do end up going out i could meet anyone from the west to head out with, was good the last time but only me and Gowmiester went out from here so wasnt (wasn@t) really a big convoy!

nah, unfortunetly my work are shit about time off, and it doesn't help that i'm the only one available to do my job at the weekends (i'm a manager at TK Maxx( oh the joys!))

plus they're now not accepting holiday requests for anything this summer

i had an idea last night and i dont know what you'll think of it.. but i think an over night meet would be good..... maybe find somewhere nice like pitlochry or somewhere like that to camp for the night.. then we can have a proper evenin, whack the tunes on, have a bbq, have a few beers and a right laugh.... then that way if some folks have far to travel its not so bad cos we'd all be together for longer??

I think its a great idea and hopefully people would attend it. Could be a great wee get together. I've not camped out since I was about 10.

I've not looked into it fully yet, infact at all. I was planning on doing it tomorrow. If you want you can get some ideas about places, dates and what not.
