Shuddering

hello,

Can anyone pthere finger on this.

When im driving at a steady speed, and the car is cold, it starts to shudder as though its wanting to stop., so i have to pop it in 3rd or 2nd gear to give it some beans to make it snap out of it

any idea what that maybe?
