thought i might aswell get one going haha

Had her a little over 3 months now. Me and my mate was doing some maths and i decided as that i could afford a GTi. So less than two weeks later i was £4700 lighter and managed too pick myself up a Sundance yellow GTi with 26k on the clock. Completely standard, used as a run around at the weekends. Fulls peugeot service history, every optional extra imaginable! headlight covers?? still dont see the real need for them. got rid of them! tints as well :confused:.

Anyway, how she was when i bought her.

Stuck on a ported and polished throttle body, which did make a nice improvement. Only 1 draw back was the fact as that she doesn't tick over very nicely and i can't quite put my finger on why, apart from something too do with the throttle body.

After this i got her lowered by 20mm on a full koni setup.

I wasn't really too keen on that, mainly because they had slammed it at the back , if it was balanced then it would have looked better. So anyway did what i should have done in the first place and bought some eibachs. A far better ride and much lower, better in every aspect!

I'll get up some better pics not had chance too since she was lowered.

Plans after this, i may not do anything for a while as im tight on cash for the next couple of months. I'm thinking along the lines of rallye vents though in the near future. Still can't make my mind up on a set of rims im thinking team dynamics pro race 1.2's. Exterior wise thats about it.

Engine wise, gonna get a magnex cat back system, prolly a sports cat and a milltek 4-2-1 or 4-1 not sure thats just provisional, get it mapped. Before i get it mapped make my mind up wether i want cams or not! then a couple of years down the line when i hopefully still have her and come out of my time (my apprentiship) maybe think about a turbo :)

Well ordered some new bits today courtesy of KAM racing, cheers mate for a great deal :)

Ordered new green cottonm filter for my Raceland, also ordered a B&M seeing as they have stopped production thought i'd get one while i can! these will be going on at the weekend will get some pic's up!

Watch this space an awfull lot is going down in the next couple of weeks ;)

ok well after a trip down to K&M acoustics, abosultely brilliant btw go there and they'll gelp you! but anyway bought a new headunit, with ipod adaptor and free fitting :)

haha i tried for another hour in the morning ste, and it still wasn't coming of, and the guys were taking the zaust of anyway so i asked him if he could have a look at it, the original is still attached to the original stick lol! gonna try and see if i can get it off in a vice for the damn of it, if i still have no luck ill bring it down to nationals just for you haha

Well, had a misfortunate run in with a steel gurder. Road was pretty wet but was full of shit (oil from lorry depot, cement dust from local factory) was braking from about 40ish about 150 yards from the corner and the ABS kept kicking in so much as that i wasn't slowing down at all.

Coming towards a metal fence and started to turn away just as the car got grip and started to turn a H section gurder was sitting 6 inches proud from the fench and caught the corner right down the panel gap.

Not to bad everything is straight apart from abit of bent metal.

yea its an excuse to get some new headlights projectors maybe and gives me chance to get some stuff on it done, like oil, rear brake pads & disks. shouldn't be to long getting it fixed just need some cash and parts :)

I was also gonna get a front end respray anyway so as good an excuse as any :)

The 'new' bit is ready for going in place :) was just waiting on a new cross member because the one i got from dan (thanks again) was bent more than i thought and didn't have the bumper sliders (dont know how i missed that when i picked it up lol).

My dad picked up the new cross member today so should be done sooner rather than later :)

yea just inner wing mate was pretty superficial, just a mess.

Will get some pictures up when i get it back.

She refused to play nice when i tried to get her out of the garage.
First battery was dead (no big deal) got my dad to jump me, she then kept cutting out unless i kept revs on. Figuered it was due to a dead battery.

Kept it running at 2k for a few mins then idled fine then decided to overheat, fan came on but nothing was happening, so turned engine of then battery was dead again lol!

20 mins later after not really doing anything was running fine again, guess she wa sleepy :p

Not been happy with the colour at the front so that should be getting sorted soon. got the front bumper to sit pretty much how it used to :) rear quarter should be getting done in the coming weeks :)

Well got the car back on friday, a week over due for one reason or another.

Good news bad news. The rear arch has been repaired and the key mark has been taken out for free :D Along with both sides being painted.

Bad news, there crap, they really are crap i only went back again to get the repair done. The lazy bastards didn't even take the bumper of the spray it so ive now got lots of over spray behind the bumper. They just blew over it, its a very very poor finish on the paint. The finish on some parts of the car is great, yet some other parts its like its not been buffed, very dissapointed.

But anyway the cars looking alot better than she has done in recent weeks.

maybe nominally, but i think its to do with the fact it doesn't shine. It's as rough as a badgers arse and im not convinced its been laquered, not got any cutting compound to try though

Yea, i'd say it feels dry. Not sure what type of paint they used.

They usually paint lorries you see, i think thats the biggest problem, they ain't used to the finish wanted by car enthusiasts

well a couple of mates have said to me individually as that you can get the work redone at another garage and the original garage gets charged the costs. It's the second time at the same place as the front end was hideous at first so they re did it and its another poor job.

Well sorta mate. Thankfully it was just overspray and it came up spankingly good with a good clay barring :) just being messed about with money now.

Not had chance to get my Driving lights back in yet. Replaced my aerial after i snapped it of by mistake haha!

Also put a standard throttle body back on hoping it would stop the hunting but it hasn't so im at a dead end now to what is causing that!

Right had a horrible knocking and clunking noise coming from the front left past few weeks, thought it was just a drop link.....wrong. The damper has decided to give up the ghost! the shaft is wobbling round for fun, so gona have to sort that out!

sent it to K&M acoustics today where i had all the sound system done, to get sub box re-trimmed and amp set up again. got it back lovely re-trim and they re-setup the amp......good god! what ever they've done its twice as loud as before and it cost me nothing lol!

Right some good news yay!!

Fitted my billies on saturday and wow there brilliant! far better than the koni's!

Turned out i had broken the locking ring, and bent the shaft slightly haha! oooops stupid things.

Changed the brakes pads and was suprised to see as that the old ones had loads of life left after a year, especially considering drilled and grooved discs and well, i wasn't easy on them :)

Handbrake light seems to have fixed itself after i changed my pads and dampers.

Fell in love with it again lol! :D
