3 notch headgasket

Hello, my head gasket went on my gti so am rebuiling my engine but sticking the raceland mani on there and some 708 catcams thing is with the cams i had the head tested and skimmed so now they reckon ill need a 3 notch headgast instead of a std one as they are fast road cams and high lifters, is this rite?
