Wanna get rid of my crappy cheap jbl front speakers and get some proper components
13cm - want to mount the tweeter up on the dash (if I can work out how to run the cabling up there)
Recommendations? somewhere around the £70 mark would be nice :)

Thanks mate
That was gonna be my other question - I've got an alpine 150watt 2 channel amp kicking around which I dont use - would it be worth installing it under the passenger bucket seat and powering the front speakers off of it? :)
I'm sure I tried before but if I turned it up any louder than un-amped the speakers distorted
At the moment i'm trying to keep the car light but like my tunes
Resisting urge to put the sub back in - so I have 2 6x9's in the shelf which add a bit of bass
But overpower front speakers - so wanna bring the sound stage forward a bit with some tweeters up on the dash

What about infinity 5010cs?
I know they seem to be 10watts rms lower than the vibes' but I can pick them up sub-£50 on ebay!

Yeh would be worth amping them definately (is the amp 2 x 150 w at 2 ohms??) they sound unreal for the money.
I havent heard the infinty 5010 cs but they make reasonable speakers for the money and my mate has never faulted them.
The vibes will definately alter overall soundstage.

Nah mate think its 2x75watt rms or something like that - picked it up cheap in halfords and used it to run my sub
I'll rummage it out the garage tomorrow and have a look at it

infinities iv'e always found are renowned for there treble but lack of midbass quite a bright set of speakers.
I'd run a set of hertz speakers, or helix, alot more musical and in depth.
is there a specific reason you want the tweeters up on the dash?
I did a product test for Ben Chandler at fast car magazine in his Saxo with a set of hertz coaxials and they really were mind blowing. they'll be easy to fit also we just ran these off the headunit and they rocked. ;D
