... no 1.1 jokes please lol
basically when im pulling away and changing gear there is a sort of dip in the power then all of a sudden it will kick,
sometimes when pulling away it sounds as though the cars going to stall even though im giving it plenty of throttle.
i though it could be spark plugs,
any ideas?
cheers

is that quick loss of power only last for less than a second, then kicks in?

seriously, mine did something similar to this for a bit. today it went crazy, no power at all...
disconnected the battery, left it for a few hours, and it's right as rain again.
dodgy fuel possibly?

i get that aswell i think. its like you put your foot down when your at 30 in fifth gear it makes the sorta struggling noise. altho happens to me when i do it in first and i put my foot down it pauses for a second and then goes.

hmm... i kinda get the same thing on mine, it kind of 'chugs' when you put your foot down.... have you tried bringing the clutch up slowly, so that there's not a sudden surge of power?

2 main reasons ive ever had for lack of power is coilpack (or leads) but also cat convertor has given me lose of power and random moments of power , most places will give you a free emissions test , so worth seeing if your cats screwed , plugs would be a good bet too i dont know much about the 1.1 :/

its probably a sensor somewhere that could do with renewing. our cars are like 8 years old and its french so something isnt ever guna be right. just replace the sensors as time goes on 1 by one and see what happens. maybe start with the throttle position sensor as it seems to be when i put my foot down theres a slight delay so maybe that sensor is a little slow. i dno il just try a few new sensors over the next few months an wel see

Had the same problem with my 106XSi last year. Car had covered 119000 at the time, turned out to be the throttle switch. My Invoice from Fuel injection specialist after been put on diognostic machine said "throttle switch fault on track" whatever that means.
They replaced part no 16281E (potentiometer) and reset ECU. Cost £120 fitted but it solved the problem.Apparently its a common fault.
Part was £53.00
Hope this helps.

Ben, mine did this. While i was revving up, sometimes it would stick at around 2.5k and the kick back in. This ended up being my lambda sensor that had gone.
It was detecting too much oxygen therefore overfuelling. Hope this helps

lamber sensor was the problem local gargage checked it for me, he sed if you catch the cat on speed bumps etc this can trigger it.
