Right as summers on the way the time has come to upgrade the sounds a little as the standard speakers are not quite capable of pushing out the tunes the way I like it..

I need advice and suggestions for the best setup for the front for my 106 GTI, I understand its a 5 1/4" fitment in the door?

Im looking to spend about 100-150 on the front speakers so any advice on what to get? Co-axials? Components? Whats the best to fit and worst?

I am looking to run these off my Alpine F407 4 channel Amp, which I think gives around 50-60watts RMS clean per channel (with the rear shelf being fed the other 2 channels) and I have a smaller V-Power mono power amp to feed a sub for the boot.

Any suggestions on subs? I have had alpines before and been impressed, I think a 10inch would do it, but im happy to hear out what you all think!

Cheers!

Hertz, Hertz, Hertz baby all the way is your sub amp 2 ohm stable whats the output on that.

Also id leave the rear speakers and and spend money on the fronts then bridge the 4 channel and give the front end some serious juice.

If you wanted to pop over i would quite happily arrange some demos on this kit it speaks for itself.

Also skinz the doors the sound willn be well enhanced.

Hope this helps a bit

Splendid..

Thanks for the advice and offer mate, only prob is that im based in the south and you are in the mids? If I do find myself up your way though I would take you up on the offer though :)

You seem pretty sure that I wont need 6x9 speakers if the fronts are juiced up and singing? that could work well.. what sort of money are we talking for a Hertz setup and are you able to provide the bits and bobs yourself?

I currently dont have a sub so its a case of seeing which one would work best...

PM me if you like or keep it out in the open, but thanks again

Yes i supply the equipment i can even post it to you if you can't travel. The hertz subs are pretty mind blowing. the hertz energy 10" dual voice coil is £95 and when run at 2 ohm is stonking.

It's a shame you have the amps already as Audiosn do a 1 box solution the audison srx 3 which has the technologies to run the front comps at 2 x 65 rms and 1 x 340 rms at 2 ohm. this creating a stonking system. It's the system in bens chandlers saxo from fast car. He would quite happily demo this to you also.

If your not spending on the rears can you squeeze to around the £200 mark for your fronts or is the budget still the same?

Here's my msn address if you want to chat freely on there m444ssy_106@hotmail.com

Why will it drop the ohm's not at all most 4 channel amps bridge up to a 2 channel and still run 4 ohms just giving them more juice.
