Hi, I was looking into a possible Go-Karting day out with us lot. The place would be Extreme Karting in Falkirk. I'm pretty sure my work gets a discount so it would save us a bit of money !

I've been there before with my mates and had a superb 2 and a half hours !

I'd need 10 names in total, if we were struggling then I'm pretty sure I could get friends to cover, as its what I had to do the last time ( I ordered and paid for it for SaxP folk when I had a Saxo VTR and it failed, costing me £90 !! )

The track is very good, I think its 20+ seconds long. They've just got new karts and are meant to be the best in the UK at the moment.

We would be doing a mini championship. Theres a couple of other groups there so we all wouldn't be racing each other. You have around 7 races and then go into the semi final and final ( if you make it )

It's a great laugh, it will cost around £35 for your space but its a great evening out. The thing is, I'd need the money upfront when booking, well the deposit anyway, so I'd need the £20 paid into PayPal before going for the booking. Obviously I'd phone up and get a couple of possible dates first.

What do you's think ?

Bet you they are lol, Argue if you must but "saying they go 70mph" must work as a good selling point.

1. There 4 stroke
2. There built like tanks
3. 270cc means nothing
4. I disagree :D

Enough said :p

Well, id say you would maybe get close to 40, but you would need a long ass straight, There about 14bhp :) which is enough to enjoy yourself

Only reason im argueing against what they say on there sites is because its a load of crap, ive got a 125cc kart which is about 25bhp and my average around the track below is about 55mph

chompy
02-06-2008, 08:18 PM
i totaly agree they don't reach 70mph, but they don't get that far off it about 50ish down the straight

anyways, get back to your own section :p

Gord
04-06-2008, 04:41 PM
I've decided against it

After looking at the Rolling Road thread, I only got 5 payments, 4 of £20 and 1 of £10. You guys had 6 weeks before the day and 4 weeks to get the money together and get it to me. Now I know you's were good to your word and paid me on the day but with this I need the money in my PayPal account when going to book it.

I can see us having a lot of problems with payments, and I'm not going through having to fork out £90 of my money again.

chompy
04-06-2008, 07:25 PM
what about collecting everyones money, have a thread of suggested dates, then book it once you have all the money?

give say 3 weeks for everyone to pay

I see where your comming from Gord,

For instance people who said they will pay on the day and did'nt turn up,

I think Chompsters Idea's good though, Collect all the cash first before booking, if we don't get enough people then don't book it and refund the cash, It's a little bit of hassle if we don't get the cash but it would be good if we did!

I wish I could go to this if it goes ahead but am a little bit skint till i start a new job!

I see what you mean Gord, but how about finding out dates and deciding on one, then start a new thread with a list of people who can Definetly go to add to (none of this maybe shite), Collect all payments before booking and then there should be no problemos. If people don't show then they lose their money. simple.

I can see where your coming from hough, maybe more hassle than what its worth.

yeah Easty,

People who say maybe shouldn't be allowed untill they're deffo certain they can go and pay,

It's a bit of a shame and a pain in the Ass for Gord i'd imagine to be arranging all these days that end up either costing him cash or going down the loo hole!

Gord
04-06-2008, 10:23 PM
Well I organised one last year for another car forum, and after getting 15 or so 100%'s, I went and booked it. In the end it cost me £90 of my own money as I couldn't get enough friends to make up the numbers.

For a whole Scottish section it really isn't active enough to look for 10 or so payments upfront. If I had to go about collecting the money then thats a lot of petrol, and when you only get 20mpg it all adds up.

I've asked for 106ownersclub cards or flyers to be made, I see 106 gti's all about my area, but they just dont know about it !

At FnM this year, there will be about 50 106's in the car park, I'd happily spend 10 mins putting it on their windscreen to get it noticed.

DeekB
04-06-2008, 11:52 PM
I'd happily help!

2 people would get it done in half the time!

I know what you mean about it not being active enough, but if down south is anything tlike up here then is probably better the other 106 owners aren't on here. The ones up here barr a couple are just chavvy boy racers who have swapped there bodge-job 2.0l corsa/nova for a completely wrecked GTi.

I think i can honestly say the only mint (not literally mint but you know what i mean) Gti's up this way are mine & Kevs. Dawn's is near enough mint too. They bought it and it was mechanically fooked but they have saved it :) Oh yea, can't forget Dereks poncy 8V :p

Apart from these, the rest of the 106's kicking about seem to be rafts owned by Chavs :(

DeekB

There's not alot of Gti's around here,

I very rarely see them!

Pah pah poncy 8v

Tis is try loads of the 106s up here are buckets, ther is a blue GTI with lexarse lights that always trys to race me, i just pop a backfire and he toodles off;)

Weird how out of all the names on that list of scottish members i only ever see 5 or 6 ppl posting in here(kev and dawn just linger in the background;))

yeah, it was pure luck I stumbled apon this lovely club. deffo need flyers.

What about leaving some flyers/cards at ecosse? they must get a fair few 106's in there. I dare say I knew about ecosse before 106owners.co.uk
