I just went into Halfords to find out what options they have for a sports exhaust and they came back with a Piper twin 3" round backbox in stainless steel for £162.15.

Is this too expensive for a sports backbox?

A full Pugsport system is not much more! Go for that! Or a SuperSprint from Kam Racing. If you sign up as a member, you will get a good sized discount on the SuperSprint.

Go to Engine, Gearboxes, Exhausts, Induction & Tuning (http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13) if you look at the pinned threads there is an Exhaust thread
The exhaust thread will tell you alot about what you need to know about Exhausts along with a huge list of various exhausts you can buy from different places.
It does not guarantee the cheapest price though, especially if you become a Official member you will get discount at our various Club Discounters which is well worth the £20 a month

The supersprint is back in stock at kam-racing on Wednesday.

Well a decent company.

If you're after a large exhaust for show, the system isn't for you. But it gives good power gains and sound porno.

I want a sporty sounding exhaust for power gains not a big chav zorst. But I was leaning towards a twin round exhaust instead of a single one.

The reason I said that is because the supersprint backbox is 'rally style' It's a small single exit. Pea-shooter stylie.
You won't get any power gains from a backbox either. You need to look at a de-cat system if you want gains and a non chavvy sound.

Just checked it out. And everyone seems to be favouring the pugsport de-cat set up but its guna be a pain changing it for MOT and poop. Is it worth it?
What do you guys think?
I want the nice sound that I've heard on YouTube and performance gains. I've also seen on YouTube some 106's with flames coming out the exhaust with the pugsport decat!

It's not a hassle to change over an exhaust. Give yourself a couple of hours and it'll be done.
I've got sportex backbox with straight through pipe. It's stupidly raspy, and bangs loads. Very happy with it.
You can come have a listen if you're around sometime.

Yeah that would be cool! I kinda like the sound of the Supersprint exhaust system. Saw Rallye James 106 on YouTube with one.
I'm just wanting something on a student budget! lol.
