it should be fine if you at lest have a back box

i wasnt going to have a back box basically i was going to get a standard back box run a straight pipe through it then weld a sheet of metal back around it so it looked standard...

106 "Sounds like a tractor" edition. Don't do that :D

If you want a straight through, either a) buy a centre section for a 106 that has the cat in the manifold or b) spend some money and buy a 4-2-1, de-cat and cat back centre section (making sure that flange will marry up to your backbox).

btw, straight through exhaust will loose your power as an engine needs some resistance to create back pressure. so instead of messing get a propper exhaust system

the correct amount of back pressure will create a better ammount of power lower rev range but can restrict at higher revs

not quite correct. The exhaust is most efficient if it stops just after the secondaries connect. ie at the end of the manifold.
Anything bolted on after that is solely to keep noise levels down.

The more restrictive systems keep the exhaust gas pulses closer together that improves torque. The straight through systems are more efficient and boost power at the expense of noise and low down torque
