right Guys...

im am shit when it comes to electric stuff...

iv set it all up tho. just not too sure where the wires go from the sub to the head unit, i no its looks abvious but iv done that and still no luck.

It seems like the subs just not getting power, allthough the wire going to battery is set up properly.

the sub is a Vibe active CRB10.

heres 2 pics of the wires from the sub, and the head unit.

Cheers for any help/suggestions.

Another thing i think it might be is that theres isnt enought power in the battery to power the sub..
as the battery has been out for a week or so... but there still power to work the head unit and play music..

??? ??? ???

cheers.

The leads going from the amplifier should be connected to the pair out the radio with rear on. The radio may have a setting for working a sub as mine has but its a different make. The amplifier should have a wire to switch the amp on which i used the aeriel output from the radio as that is what it said in the manual. There should be a positive and negative, and a pair out of the amp to the sub. You may well have to bridge the amp for the sub but on mine i just needed to put one wire on the negative for the left speaker and the other wire onto the positive of the right speaker and the bridging is done inside the amp. That should be all that is needed to work.

its not a seperate amp and sub mate, its just all together...

Are the rear speakers connected to the radio as well as the sub leads, as my radio won`t work both at the same time and ive got to disconnect the rear speakers when using the sub. Ive got all speakers running off a separate amp but try disconnecting the rear speakers if any are fitted. Failing that then i have no idea as ive not used a built in sub and amp. It may sound daft but is the sub actually connected inside the box, im sure you will have checked thoiugh.

yeah its all connected, hopefully it will be somthing daft like that though...

as for the rear speakers, no i dont have any, just the standard pug ones, which will be upgraded in a few months.

cheers anyway mate.

Unplug the speakers though as it could be something to do with them as you only have front and rear rca outputs and i do know that my old stereo did not like rear rca outputs being used with normal speakers. My new head unit has rear rca`s, front rca`s and sub rca`s so that can take anything.

alright mate, might give that a try...

allthough i think its that the sub isnt getting power.. just dont know why!! lol

is there a Blue thin remote wire going from your headunit to your amp?

how good is the earthing point?

James.G

earthing point is on a bolt at the back of the boot, maybe should go to the seats? and yes, the remote wire is in the first pic. should it join the other blue wire in the head unit?

Remote wire needs to connect to the remote wire on your headunit. This powers up the amp/sub when the headunit it turned on.

My earth point is that bolt the same as yours is, but you have to scratch the paint off from around the bolt so it has a proper contact, fresh metal not paint. That was my problem when i first put a sub in.

yeah see what you mean mate,

so the paint being in the way would cause the sub not to have power?

i might change it to the seat bolts then..

and buy looking at the red, white plugs on the back of the head unit, would you say they go to rear or front conections?

Have you ever had the blue wire connected to anything? Because if not the sub will never have had power, without the remote turn on connected, it wont turn on lol

But a bad earth will mean the sub doesnt get sufficient power.

my headunit has seperate subwoofer wires, so i dont have the problem with front/rear. Just try them both!

lol yeah the blue wire has been connected up to the remote lead.

just thourght of two other factors....

1. the battery might not have enoght power as it has been out for about 2 weeks.
2. the car is on axel stands so the earth would be crap lol.
