I thought i'd be kind to my mate on his 21st and be the designated driver for the evening while they all went and got para.
I drove the lads where they wanted to go and didnt drink (i felt a bit rough still from the night before). After a few different places ended up parking at my friends halls of residence car park while i joined the boys in the club for an hour or so.
Now - the sign said "£4 all day. If no one is here to collect to money do not park here". I did the stupid thing and listened to my pissed friends say "ah dont worry mate, they wont give you a ticket"
2 hours i left my car, 75 pound ticket slapped on my dash.
i could hit someone.

6 or 7 of us from the Rallye Register got £30 tickets today in Bournemouth :( Should have checked that the car park was pay and display rather than just going in the cafe  Poole council made a good £200 out of us today

It pisses me of so much!
I have to pay £3 for parking everytime i go to work! It's f**king ridiculous. It's not just the charges that annoy me though, it's the jobsworth b**tards the council employ and call "parking attendants". W**kers!
A mate of mine has this system going, where he stole a parking ticket from a car in town and everytime he parks now, he just slaps the ticket on his car and doesn't pay, so it looks as though he's already been given a parking ticket and they leave him alone. Personally i think it's a f**king brilliant idea. :)

actually as it turns out, this UKCPS company who issued the ticket are a bunch of scammers. they have nothing to do with the police, nor the council. theyre purely a company who scare drivers like us into paying fines which they wont be able to back up in court. They state that after 10 days the fine will go up by £3 a day until i pay. They also say they will get my vehicle/owner registration details from the DVLA, but then later on in the paragraph it says they are bound the data protection act, so surely a private company like these twats cant get my details??
Its just a load of bollocks. rant over

parking tickets are the devils work.
i also did the charitable thing of being the designated driver a few weeks ago, in their drunken state the girls decided they wanted some greasy chicken, we were out of the car for 20 minutes max.... i was so angry i just screamed at him, robbing b*stards!
you can check with your local council who the designated 'parking attendants' are and see if the ticket matches. Take your ticket in and ask.

aye, theyre nothing to do with the council though, due to the fact that the land is owned privately (apparently) and not by the council.
due to this, the owner of the car park gets a private company (ukcps) to do the dirty work.
im not 100% sure what to do, i might get legal advice. any law students about? :D

Could be worse.. you could live in essex and park in a car park and get clamped, and have to pay from £160 to £240.
It happened to my girlfriend, and brother. Its not very nice!
I hate them. I hate traffice wadens, I hate the fact i have to pay £2.50 a day for a car park ticket at some looser train station. and then have the cheek to charge me £309.20 a month for a train ticket.
its robbery.
I say we create a ticket machine terroist squad. F**k meets, lets just go vandal traffic warden offices, and pay and display machines!

Yup. Tell me about. You should try Southend. On AirShow day!! Wouldnt surprise me if I saw someone parking on a raft in the sea! They should start bilding more carparks, or stop putting yellow lines everywhere!
Anyone got any of that expanding foam. I know its pretty pricey, but could save me £50 a month to park a deserted pikey "piss up the wall" train station. Or some french bangers and just blast the mechanisms out inside. Or when I have the day off, wait for the old ticket sniper to come round and tell him/her what I think of thier service.

I don't think Chelmsford is too bad tbh.
Matalan carpark is free for an hour or two, and The tesco in town is free for three hours and there's always spaces on the top floor, everytime.

The gel type superglue down the coin slot would prob do it. Doesn't look like theres anything wrong but the machine won't allow u 2 put more than 1 or 2 coins in b4 it gums up.
On a side note Anybody tried 2 park in Milton Keynes at any time in the day? complete b1tch!
