I've dug out an old CD today and forgot how good it is ...
Oasis definitely maybe.

Everytrack is an absolute stonker! Some of their older stuff is suspect little james anyone?? But listening to this tells you just how amazing this band are.
Every single track on this album could have been a single. This is where it all began. At the time there was nothing else around music was trying to get over the hangover of the hacienda nightclub and the whole baggy/madchester thing. The stone roses were struggling with their second album and were slowly imploding as browns and squires egos rubbed against each other. Grunge was on danger of taking over the void left and thousands of youths were listening to a bunch of smackheads from seattle winge.
And then from burnage a group of lads emerged swaggering into the limelight fronted by a couple of brothers.
The soundbites at the time showed the band in the light they would be seen in for their whole career, they came across as arrogant, talking of world domination and claiming to be the best band in the world. Claims that are not to be taken lightly but they had the tunes to back it up.
It starts with Rock n roll star and the intent is set a storming track and the one that sums oasis' self beleif up completely when liam sings "Look at younow you're all in my hands tonight" you know hes right. Its easy to dismiss this track to be egotystical looking back but you have to remember when it came out theband were playing to empty bars in the rougher areas of Manchester. And it just goes on from there. I'm nt going to go through everytrack but everyone is brilliant and much better than the anything which was out at the time (or come since) Noels guitar soars. The solos arent anything complex and they've been constantly critisised for only knowing 3 cords but it sounds awesome. Liams vocals simmer with arrogance and he's still working on the shi-ine style drawl he became famous for and he can actualy sing. Dont believe me? check "married with children" a touching acoustic track with the band in a thoughful mood.
Anyone who has this album in their collection I urge you to dig it out and have another listen anyone who hasn't got it, where have you been? Get it in your collection stick iton your I-pod and go to the park. Find yourself a nice quiet corner and have a listen.
Just dont come complaining to me when your caught doing a liam swagger or playing air guitar to noels solos!
