It's nice to find other people who like to keep their car clean instead of trying to see how dirty they can get it. ::)

Dan

James.G
15-01-2007, 10:58 PM
good to hear Dan, it really makes the difference when everythings clean. much nicer to look at, and work with.

then before anyone says its going to get dirty again... after the first clean, all you need to do is a quick power wash underneith and in the arches and it will be good as new again. :)

it takes time tho mate. im on its been off the road for about a month now mind. and alot of paintience. :-\

i waxed up the underneither, fitted the black heat sheild, fitted the spoiler, fitted the quickshift, fitted my sub, re-spray on the rear bumper strips...

But then!!

i managed to take her down off the stands yesterday.. :-[

scared shes going to get dirty when it rains now. but shes basically spotless now underneither and in the arches. so sat her back down on four wheels and it look so good seeing her together again :D

will be going back up for a week or 2 in April i expect incased anything was missed, and to prepare her for the shows ;)

James.G

Update!! photowhore...

Well i havnt really done much this month as it has been back on four wheels and havnt had much money.

But after some banter off steve of me giving up and looking under the car when i was rasing the exhaust, i really didnt think it was THAT clean, and thats what matters.

so decided to not just clean it, but to give it a full lick of paint, at first i thourght i would come up minging with brush strokes, but its really hard to see them even if you are inches away!

so basically gave it a reall good clean and then painted it up. i think it looks a hunderd times better :)

let me know what you think.

Now these are the new cleaner pic ;) :)

ermm...

not much you really need to look out for.

1. Jack up front end and stand on axel stands.
2. take off both wheels.
3. undo the two 3/4inch carrier bolts on the back of the caliper.
4. remove caliper.
5. undo discs pins and take off discs.
5b. fit new discs.
6. change brake lines, useing 11mm spanner to undo them. (either use mole grips or brake pipe grips.)
7. fit new calipers useing new shorter GTi bolts.
8. bleed them in!! :)

touch me :)
