right this meet is gonna be run along with sax_p as there doing the same thing on the same day so it makes sence

Date: 1st June 2008

Starting Point: Showcase Cinemas, Leeds M62 (WF17 9TB)

Destination: Whitby, North Yorkshire

Via: York and Scarborough

The Drive: The proposed route from the Showcase covers a distance of approximately 80 miles and is as follows:


Depart at 11am (prompt) from Showcase Cinema's Leeds

We will then take the M62 and up the M1 to aberford bypass on the A1. We will then travel via the A64 and our first pick up point along the way will be at The Highwayman Cafe (http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/13059)(at approx. 12:00) for members joining us in the York area. We will then proceed via the A64 with a scenic drive to our next stop point, Scarborough:

Once in Scarborough

When we arrive at Scarborough we will rendezvous at Oliver's Mount (YO11 2UG), where we will park up, set up a bbq (please bring your own food - I will sort out the bbq itself) and have a bit of a social and probs a few photos.

The time by now should be about 1:00-1:30. We will probably be here for at least an hour and a half before convoying to Whitby:

Once in Whitby

I am relying on our resident yocal, smiith to lead us to a decent pub, hopefully with beer garden where we can park, chill and no doubt get more photos.

From there members may leave at any point to make their own way home or if heading back to Leeds area can convoy back with me along the A171 and back down the A64.


In Brief, the proposed plan for the day is as follows:

11:00 - Depart from Showcase Leeds M62
12:00 - (1st stop) The Highwayman Cafe, York (A64)
12:15 - Depart from Highwayman to Scarborough
13:00 - (2nd stop) Arrive at Oliver's Mt, Scarborough. BBQ and social
15:00 - Depart from Scarborough
15:30 - (final stop) Arrive at Whitby and find pub for drink and chat


I hope we can make this a huge turnout - there should be no excuse! Just after payday for most of us and 3 weeks before FCS

If you're up for it get yout name on the list and where you will be meeting along the route. I look forward to seeing some of the regular members, newbies and enjoying a great drive on the day

you are all responsable for yourself,actions etc but you will be representing our club so no daft driving(me excluded once a vts passes me lol)


you will also all be responsable for finding your own way to the meet points and the stop points as directing 40+ cars is a knightmare



print the proposed stops off and keep them with you so if you get seperated from the group you can rejoin cos you will know where we will be

mines about modded s2 rallye speed cos the cam in it is pretty mild but im working on dropping a bigger one in end of this year


and yeah the carbs should be on for national day so ill more than likely be running and trying to beat my current best of 15.8sec

lol, will sound the shizzle with carbs on, if you have a cd player in rip it out, i just have my windows down at the moment listening to the pops and bangs my omp exhaust makes, cant beet the sound of an 8v, but with carbs jesus christ lol.
im realy not sure what to expect at pod with mine.
i think the 1.3 box thats on it will suit it though, come over and have a look when this meets on, have a quick blast in it if you want see how close it is to being as quick yours.
i need a 2nd oppinion tbh.

my dad the elf is a fuking goon.. didnt give the fly wheel ful tightening and it has sheered its bolts. so i didnt compete in my rally tonight. fuking marshalled instead. however i got my 10 minute buzz out of it so im happy! ... gearbox off tomorro and new fly wheel bolts going in. and probably a racing clutch!

its not that quick realy now.. after my first spiritedf run out. its alot faster than it was and its fuking reliable for a change ... but it doesnt get going til 5500 revs and the limiter cuts out at 6 so need a s2 rally ecu and loom is next on my list. i think for cheap upgrade until winter

well the way things are going i might not make my own meet grrr


as some will know last weekend when i went down to the lincs meet my bottom hose rubbed through on the driveshaft which i tempory fixed at the road side but havent had chance to replace the hose which needs doing before its given a long distance run tbh

and the other day the battery light flashed very dimly so either i got water on the altinator filling the rad and its on its way out or it was just throwing a spaz and hopfully will be fine


and im skint :(

i'm not sayin 16v are slow no way, some seam faster than others tho, some are the same speed as my rallye (jimmy_p) and others miles quicker (will_1988) but they are both the same spec.???
