Currently trying to find any of the three following engines:

s1 1300cc rallye engine
s2 1600cc rallye engine
phase 2 VTR engine

Which ever engine I decide to use it will be completely rebuilt...but was looking to see whats the best way of n/a tuning this engine.

Don't really want to go down the turbo / supercharger route as i don't want to be spending uber amounts of money on it...

And finally I dont want to go down the valver route due to insurance!

So what ideas have you got guys???

4-2-1 maifold, BMC air filter with an s1 inlet would work pretty well i would of thought.:)

Maybe a cam?

wild cam, high comp pistons, jenveys, standalone, L/B flywheel, shite load of head work...

the list is endless, just depends how big your pockets are.. but what Rich said is a good basic start.

S2 rallye engine.

- R1 baike carbs for budget induction
- Jenvey throttle bodies, more expesnive option.

- 270 fast road cam
- 285-303 rally spec cam, if your going bodies.

Head ported and polished.

Standalone management if your going bodies.

Forged pistons, lightened and balanced flywheel and crank.

Whar budget you looking at?

Engine: S2 rallye

Cams: piper 303 cam(think thats right), soild lifters, uprated valve springs, vernier pulley.

Inlet: Jenvey 40mm throttle bodies.

Head: exhaust and inlet ports ported to hell, polished and gas flowed, valve seats recut, head skimmed.

Ancillaries: High compression forged pistons, uprated conrods and arp bolts.

Management: standalone of any variety, kms, dta omex etc

Manifold: GMC 4-1 or a piper 4-2-1

Engine mounts: Group N engine mounts

The youd want an oil catch tank, sump baffle kit, mocal oil cooler, rebuild the block, new seals gaskets cam belt water pump etc.

that would all cost a bomb, but u said budget was no option :D

Christ erm for that if u built it all yourself, about 3000-5000, not sure on exact figures.

Power wise good question, I dont have a clue, lol, a guy on the rallye register had a similar set up, was runnign about 150 bhp I think.

TBH id be gutted if i spent all that and then only had 150bhp, you could spend that much on a boosted application and get more power, but that is my opinion! :)

303 cam seems pretty high, hope you don't want to use it as a daily! :p
