View Full Version : Realistically, what would be the gains?

Say for example, on a simple 1.1 8v (duh), talking to a friend at work, with an enclosed induction kit, 4-2-1 manifold, straight through decat center section and a pugsport for example, he said I'd be getting about 20bhp extra.

I'm highly doubtful, and I said all I'd get is a nicer sound, possibly 5bhp more. So anyway, would there be much of a noticeable gain? Chances are I'll never do it, being a student and all, money is tight.

on a 1.1 you would doing well to see quiksilver power afer all of that, realistically about 70bhp 8v tu engines seem to love these normal mods

It'd actually get up to that much? Would it be more in the top end high speed, or the acceleration?

makes a difference in everything. a Quiksilver with those mods usually makes between 88-92bhp no other one has ever made anything more bar 1 but no one else so thats an isolated case.

Expect a nice noticeable gain but expect to set yout feet on fire

decat supposed to take 10% of the power but you not guna be getting an improved 0-60 just top end speed with maybe 5-10bhp max. Not really worth doing on a 1.1. I dont even think its worth doing on the 1.4s.
