can i get a 306 16v engine and put it in the 106
i take the 1.6 16v is the same as the gti engine but i think they did a 1.8 16v and/or a 2.0 16v

im prity sure the 1.6 306 engine isnt the same as the vts/106gti engine less power i believe, but the 2L they do the 306gti6 and the 306 rallye, im prity sure that the engine wd fit but you would probs need custom engine mounts ect, wd b best goin wi the 106gti lump its a gd all rounder wi great tuning abilty

o yer i was just saying that the 1.6 was based on the same engine as i did know that it would not have the same power out put.
you might be right but soon i should have three 106's
a gti that i am going to use as an everyday car, another diesel 106 that i am going to put a 1.9 turbo diesel engine in from a 306 and also turn that 1 into a pickup and then use my xsi for track days
so wanted something different in the xsi

yes mate im all for puttin bigger engines out of different pugs/citroens into 106,s
what about a 2.0L turbo

you can get standard 2l t peugeot/citroen motors pushin out as much as 200 bhp standard out of an zx volcane etc.
fit one
306 used the tu (106 engine) up to 1400 i think
