Now then, i saw a few people had these blogs on the go and thought it would be a good idea to do one of my own as it is quite good to actually see the amount of effort that goes into to cars to do the simplest things
The day i picked her up she was totally standard (apart from the 16v badges on the side which were off at the first petrol station i pulled into :D ) as thats what i wanted the most.... an unmolested one!
She had 19,550 miles on the clock when i got her, this is after owning her for one day
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/DSCF0365-vi.jpg
For the first 2 months of owning her, modding went pretty slow tryin to save up a bit money, i think i changed the ariel as it had a silver one on
I took her down to USC at santa pod and did my first ever 1/4 mile.... was really nervous
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/DSCF1075-vi.jpg
The first thing i got for the motor was my number plate as a birthday pressie
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/DSCF1583-vi.jpg
Then me and few of my mates got crackin on the lowering, wasnt easy......
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/DSCF1573-vi.jpg
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/DSCF1580-vi.jpg
The torsion bar was an absolute nightmare!

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/DSCF1598-vi.jpg
The third day whilst i was off work my pugsport arrived so got that fitted, and after three nightmare days to remember she had changed a little

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/DSCF1607-vi.jpg
Saved up for a while (well a month) and got something i always wanted for my 106, i think its either a love it or hate it mod

Oh an the reason the tape is on the window was coz it had just been replaced, the other one had a big crack down... dunno why >:( ;)

Once i got the lights on i give it a good wash and put the wheels i had for quite while which were in the garage and took some photos
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/IMAG0149.jpg
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/IMAG0148.jpg
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/IMAG0154.jpg
Am sad but a had to take the wheels straight back off as one is buckled (which i knew) But what i didnt know was when i went to order a new Kahn alloy it turned out they were a discontued wheel (no longer made :o ) hance are i was never gonna find one by itself in a peugeot fitment......... but low and behold.... EBAY!!
1 Kahn RSR 15" peugeot fitment turned up, so of course i bought it straight away, i won the bid and had alot of hassel with the fella who sold it, 8 weeks gone still no wheel, after reporting and leaving bad feedback i give up on them alloys but 2 days later it appeared!!
But....... when i took them to get refurbed, the guys said 'do you know this wheel is buckled'
Oh s*"t!
Forgot about the wheels and bought these to ease the pain
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/susp2.jpg
So, the most up to date pics

Ha ha, cheers Steve, didn't realise you were on here
Yeah i will be at a few shows, definatley FCS
Tim, i do like the morettes colour coded on some cars, but on my colour i thought they looked a bit boring
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/a606_19.jpg
well if bumper strips were colour coded then lights would have to be :P but you can get away with i suppose if they arent, as yours are, they look lush though no doubt

Well the latest pic of my wheels, i aint actually seen them yet but my mate sent me the pic, my tires also come yesterday so hopefully the wheels will be on by saturday
I have had the wheels done a dark grey rather than anthracite or black. A thought it would be a bit different, apparently they have come out really good, but hey a cant complain for 20 quid :P
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/0_IMAGE_000681.jpg
They look amazing and £20.... ?!
N9KKC
31-01-2007, 07:36 PM
I hope they look ok with them just bein grey
My mate works at a garage and round the back there is a place that does loads of powder coatin, so i sanded them down and filled all the deep marks and he got them done for 40 quid, he is fittin mt tires and balancin them for me
You said £20 in the post before, now £40?! :-\
N9KKC
31-01-2007, 08:41 PM

20 quid! Bloody bargain! cant wait to see these on your car.

Right, got the wheels done, got the tires on, got them on the car......... and took them back off
The wheels looked a nice colour in the dark but in light and in the day they looked horrible, they had a strange bluey green tinge to them. Didn't have a chance to get a good photo of them as they were only on one day, but here is one
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/mine.jpg
I think it totally clashed with the headlights and bumpstrips
However, i asked one of my mates who has a compressor and air spray guns if i could use them, so they are getting sanded back down and i have bought some paint which has been colour matched to the headlights. The wheels are all primered up now but just waiting for it to warm up a little (just a little ;) ) So hopefully the wheels should be back on again soon :'(

yea good job changing it, they dont look right in that colour
looked lush off the car, perhaps you should do lights and bump strips to match instead?

09-02-2007, 06:43 PM
car looks lush, nice to see you having the guts to mod it all yourself.
my mot's just cost me 200 quid coz im too much of a pussy to fix the thing myself :[
N9KKC
09-02-2007, 06:52 PM
Ha ha, depends what it is wether i dare have ago, :D
The reason am doin the wheels myself is coz the originals ones i did have i cant get no more and it has turned out to be a right pain in the ass to get another one as they aint made no more, so am just hangin onto them and see if one comes along and then i can alternate between wheels ;D
Dargs
09-02-2007, 11:23 PM
think they look pretty good in that pic :P
can imagine they would look alittle out of place in the light tho :(
look forward to seein the new ones ;D
Good choice in changing them dude, dont look too good.

Tuscan
18-02-2007, 07:07 PM
The phase 1 morretes come in 2 parts if im correct.
As you have the 2 sections of light on the old 106's.
Some ppl have a morette piece and a standard peice wich looks odd.
Click the link and you'l see what i mean

top man, a mebe not bother, there prob extra weight, but i thot it wud b good, too loose one othe lights from it, an use it for air intake, if i dont get a simota or summit like
Tuscan
18-02-2007, 07:16 PM
Yeah thas done quite often mate,
And its better than running a cold air feed lower down to the mouth of the bumper, because there's cleaner air up by the bonnet, as it sits higher up from the road.

A Few new pics, gonna be selling the speedlines unfortunatley due to having two sets of wheels, lots of 15" tires and have an expensive few week son there way, but here she is currently

And here is my 'Nemo' wheels,
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c129/Conlon87/IMAG0111.jpg
thats why there is only photos of one side of the car, so once again will need to do some refurbing, but will be doing the headlights and the rallye vents and loads of little engine bits at the same time so there all the same colour..... probably a few weeks before french car show. lol
