now i don't know much about these, hint the questions!
wanting to run 809's so will need a decent bit of gouging in the piston, compression ratio i'd preffer is between 12.0:1 - 13.0:1
so what pistons are avaliable, what is recomended and any scare stories?

yae ring qep and have a look on ssc on georgel project thread some really good info on there about set ups etc.

accralite omega JE wossner all make pistons for the 16v i beleive...

13.0:1 thats seriously high c/r, is there any reason why you would want it that much?
obviuosly you will need solid lifters, stronger valve springs etc otherwise i think you might run into problems.

i have a feeling with teh 809`s you HAVE to run solid lifters... i beleive ts what vtr170??? on here used in his build

yea i am lead to believe that you do have to.
Take a look at the project thread i mentioned lots of good reading.
13.0:1........!!!!........... things are gonna get messy lol

between 12.0:1 and 13.0:1 lol idealy want 12.7:1 ;)

speak to matt at qep he is the man to talk to as he just finished a new test on cams. they were talking about it on SSC

Accralites are a beautifully made piston, but the available cutout sizes aren't deep enough for 809s. The Omegas would be my choice, available from GMC and/or Longmans.
