My new car...Cherry 2!

Got my new car today, an R reg 106 XN 1.1 whooo its killing me being sooo slow, also dont think i have power steering!
so im making Cherry 2! ha i know some of you think its daft making a 1.1 look like a gti but im doing it, the bumpers on the xn are scuffed and scratched so i ahve gti bumpers why not put them on ive now got both skirts and all four arches so im ready to go! my mate is going to spray the alloys black and i wanna lower it 60mm idealy, and im sticking the gti dials in!!

its extreamly slow lol! went to see cherry 2day and now im not upset and its sunk in looking at the car i wonder how the f*** we walked out of it the windscreen is touching the steering wheel!!!

gti dails could be a problem,iirc your gti was a 00/01 x? with the digi dials

this will have a manual dial set up so wont be able to plug the gti dials in,unless there off an older one with a manual set up aswell

Surely you could take the struts and beam off the GTi for a 4 stud conversion?

I noticed a hooooge difference between nonPAS in derv, and PAS in XS.

i preffered my xs for driving when the power steering broke, you get more of a feel for the road somehow

There made by Renault and say clio on the back, they look like a depressed frog and have nothing going for them.

Sory but i think they are pants and my brother wants one.:)

And, I belive that once you take into account the air conditioning belts, the overall power, isnt 182, its 169bhp, my mates is considering taking his air con out, because of the huge power drop, plus the fact that he doesn't use it, and wont do, anyway.

182's arent really worth the extra cash IMO your better off with the 172 and saving a few grand then sticking some bodies on it

the old clio valvers were the same werent they? a mate had a replica one and you could pretty much push his wings all the way in and they'd bounce back

Probably were, my old 1.2 (Mk2 Ph2) had them - you couldn't dent them if you tried. I'd have the FF 172, have a few luxuries back :p

i have to say bex that from what i saw ANY car would have been squashed like your gti. IF anything i think it held together VERY well!!! Yeah so it squashed a bit - but at the end of the day that is well designed crumple zones, your interior cabin remained 99% intact did it not?

You also have to remember that you hit a solid metal post ;)

But anyway, ill let you come for a spin in mine soon then you can decide mwahahaha

I had a clio before the gti and i loved it just wanted something faster, so got the gti but wrote that off so going back to a clio and want a 182! i ahd and we still havent had any probs with the clio (touch wood) but pugs pfft always somethin wrong, mines having trouble starting at the moment!

yea i did buy cherry like that, no the xn is the same colour, my mates fixed the bumpers for me yday and colour restored it!
