I am thinking about putting in a new 4-2-1 manifold on my 1.1L 1999 Zest, but before i buy it i wanted to make sure that i knew what to do so i had a look and i saw a sencor on the manifold leading to the ECU, do i have to take it out and refit it into the new manifold i buy or can it left out and just secured in some way? And if i buy a new exhaust system shall i do them in one or one at a time?
Thanx

the sensor is the lamda sensor the new 4-2-1 will hava space to fir it
ur best of removing the clip for it then unscrewwing the sensor then removing all the bolts from your old manifold its cast iron btw so a bit heavy then reatach the new manifold screw the sensor back in an re clip it then start the car up i did it on my dinner hour at work really simple job ull need a 13mm rachet spanner and a 10mm prob best to replace the gaskets whilst your at it

i would rather put a new one on as looking at the ones that are corrently on look a bit rusted over to be honoust
Yeah, i would recomend anyone replacing a manifold getting a new one but the one i had on there hadnt been on there long so i knew it would be alright.

thats f.e then do you have a performance exhaust if so what would you recomend?
If you are buying a raceland manifold it may take you an awful lot longer than an hour. Some people seem to have no problems fitting them, others have lots of problems!
I have supersprint exhaust.:)
Pug is the best place for gaskets, theyre a proper metal item.

is it a good exhaust system? is it very loud and have a good sound or quite but gives extra speed?
Fitting wise and build quility is very good. I sometimes think its a bit noisy on idle but sounds amazing at 7000rpm.;)

Rich is the exhaust cat or de-cat and is it road legal so it will pass the mot?
Its a decat, there for it wont pass an mot and is not suitable for road use.:)

As long as you have an MOT on the car (passed with another exhaust on) and you have an exhaust declared on your insurance, I can't see it being a problem. As far as anyone else knows, the exhaust on the car has passed the MOT.

do you have a de-cat on your 106? and ok so basicaly when it comes to the mot you have to change it back again

Yeah, mine's a decat. I have a cat and cat-back exhaust in the garage for MOT time. The MOT centre put it on, test the car, then take it back off again :D

thats the way to do it lol i like that idea so as long as i keep the old exhaust somewhere for mot i can get away with a de-cat thats alright then, do you know if its against the law to use a de-cat just wondering?
Thats the best thing to do yeah.
