Gloucester/Chelt meet

As said in an earlier thread in the Spotted forum, there's a fair few members on here from around the Gloucester/Cheltenham area, maybe enough for a meet. Potential ideas and times? And work from there to see how many people would be able to make it etc, see if it's worthwhile doing!

Well, looks like we have a few people interested... any suggestions for dates? And venues? I was thinking something along the lines of meet at the peel centre or something, then maybe drive up to tenpin for some bowling or something, but that's just of the top of my head.

Dw tenpin is easy to get to from the motorway its down like 2 dual carriage ways :P Well once more people have seen the thread we will start to try and finalise a date that suits the largest majority of people.

Peel center is a bit of a mess at the moment what with the bridge building works going on, plus there are some huge ass speed bumps that we all might not be able to go over! LOL!

Been looking at dates, as most people seem to say a weekend/sunday, would sunday 11th may or sunday 18th may be prefered? Gives us 2-3 weeks notice :).

Yeah, I'm fairly sure that's the one James - though Esporta's Virgin active now. Tenpin used to be called megabowl if that helps, got burnt a bit a few years back.

My dad being the boy racer he is :P tryed to race me, but realised he was rubbish and slow and i left him behind, at this point i had never even driven a car =D so i was very proud.

Gonna stick my neck out here and say I personally think bowling is the better option - karting would be nice, but the only obvious track around here is JDR, which is crap, and is in the peel centre - which, as pointed out earlier in the thread, has huge speedbumps etc which some of the lower cars might not like, I know mine doesn't and it's normal height!

Another reason is the cost, I'm not sure on the cost of the karting, but I'm fairly sure it'll be more expensive than bowling, and probably for a smaller amount of time. Plus, with the bowling, we can always grab a meal after, and mess around on the arcades for a bit. Don't get me wrong, karting would be fun, but looking at the meet as what it's supposed to be, I wouldn't think karting would be hugely social! lol
