Right! thought I would start a progress blog!

All started back in november 2007 when february (this year -2008) when i decided i wanted a different car and get rid of my first car, my corsa b

when i first bought it

Anyway i was always looking on autotrader, pistonheads and ebay for a GTi, a few things i was looking for... new digi dials, no bumpstrips, and i wanted it totally standard.

When searching on pistonheads i came across a lovely example of a black gti, 33,000 miles 02 plate standard minus lowered 40mm and a back box all for just 3300! rang up straight away said i wanted to come and view it etc, he said he wanted a quick sale because he needed a van for his motorcross, so i said well ill bring 3000 up with me and if its good ill take it! he said that would be fine. anyway i was really excited, then i done a hpi check, came back as a cat d! :( i was really disapointed but then read about cat write offs, and basically found out cat d is bugger all and no chassis damage etc.. so i thought if its all fine and no damage i could get a steal by dropping the price etc. so i rang him up, and he was totally shocked about it being a cat d as he didnt check it when he bought it, he then said well i could still have it and just knock off 500 :eek: off the price taking it down to 2500!! so i said well i will probally be up to have a look but ill get back to him tonight. when away thought some more and then rang him back up and said if all is good ill give you 2350 cash and after some persuasion he agreed to the price!!!

so next day i made my way up to south wales to see the car :eek: it was great, looked mint, drove straight, no damage underneath, under bonnet etc... so obviously i bought it!!

The only problem i had now was that i couldnt insure the car until i was 18! bought the car in feb and not able to drive it until may! so ive been itching to drive it soo much!!!

So basically all ive been doing is maintaing it cleaning it every once in a while!!

Spent 5 odd hours cleaning the outside of the GTi the other day - lovely weather!

Used the usual two bucket method with all my megs and auto glym goodies

I then had a little play with two shots, linked 3 seperate photos up to get a nice width, then just desaturated one and increased the saturation on the red.

Anyway with it being off the road i decided to order some goodies, B&M type quickshift, also want to start getting some spec r engine bay covers so managed to get the fuse cover, Pugsport decat 2'' outward rolled, raceland 4-2-1 manifold, and raceland enclosed ind kit! got it all from kam racing, 106 parts, and ebay for the quickshift and spec r cover. money well spent! not all arrived yet tho! shouldnt be long

was a bit bored one day so decided to shave my alcantara. came out very well tbh great little thing to do to make ur car look really clean!!!!
dont use a good shaver as it makes them quite blunt!!! lol decided to nick my mums bics after mine had gone blunt!!!

These are good quickshifts, got one fitted to mine and it makes a big difference. Only problem was that it scrapes on the top of the heatshield but I just toke that off. Nice car by the way and you chose the best colour;)

right well havent updated this much have i!!! havent really done much... got some mr lights... fitted both quickshifts.. ge and b&m. not really had the money to get anything else done but really looking forward to getting some bits and bobs once im earning the dosh again!!! i did put it for sale. got quite a bit of interest but now. well im loving it again and think im guna keep it!
