East Anglia meet Norfolk coast Cruise (x2!!!) 25th May

Right I have decided to go for it so that something gets done!!

People have said they need notice to get time off work so I have decided to organise a meet on

Bank Holiday Sunday 25th May
Meet 2pm Swaffham bp/Mc Ds.

Then cruise on to Hunstanton to meet anyothers there (place to be confirmed, if those of you who want to meet there let me know the best place to meet as I havent a clue!!)

Then along the coast to get some great pics and video footage along the way to cromer. If people fancy it we can grab some fish and chips take some pics on the cliff car park,

Then cruise along to Great Yarmouth for a laugh in the arcades or pleasure beach which ever people prefer and lark about in the evening.


The route should take around 3 hrs without stops so should get to Yarmouth around 6:30 - 7 if people would like to join in the evening as I know its difficult to get the time off work on a sunday,
We can confirm time place near the time.

So Names Please!!!! And any ideas on changes to this let me know I'm open to changes as just thought it was time to get something going!
I will also be inviting east midlands and south east as or little east anglia group hasnt been noticed by everyone yet and the more the better!

vickz, i just had a play about in microsoft picture it, only picture program ive got, but it does the job, got the rallye logo from over on the rallye register, and just stuck the bits over a piccy, pitty it didnt make it longer but my skills dont stretch that far lol, im still on for 25th, theres also 2 guys interested from the rallye register, one with a red s1 rallye, and also another s1 rallye - if he can get it on the road, if not then he'l be in a nana gti, these two did the coast thrash also last year, hope they can both make it :)

To be fair the route we're doing would be a nightmare with many more than 10 cars anyway. I did a similar run with Pistonheads last year and we ended up with people getting lost all over the place. Only about 20 of the 40 who left Norwich made it to the coast!


On another note, I've got a passenger seat free if anybody wants to just come along for a ride out. So long as they don't smell obviously.

yea, i learnt not to use that gulf stuff, you just think up there at that price nobody touches the stuff so it sits in their tanks for flippin ages, for some reason the petty up there smells strange too, like more oily lol, i still drive into woodbridge every week for v-power, no lies, it gets me 30miles more out of a tank, and i guess is better for the engine and all that :)

what time does the pleasure beach shut?, there wasnt alot of time left in the day last year, and we finished at cromer :s mind you i lost track of time when i broke down :(

i filled up with gulf super unleaded the week before and it was fine though lol... filling up tomoro from shell. shud do the trick.

a140 is shite all the way, from mine to fakenham (in the centre of the route) it was bout 60 miles and took an hour and a half. thats 40mph average on that crappy road! thats slow for me if your wondering

The main, non coast road from North Walsham to Yarmouth (A149) is pretty direct and normally not too busy.
It used to be the railway lines though so is does lack good corners.

I think all the roads will be a lot busier this time than they where on the last run, what with it being a bank holiday, but that's just something we'll have to put up with.

I will Finalise the route on Tuesday after I have handed in my final year uni work need to get that finished first!!!

Does anyone have any ideas my Brakes have decided not to work and nobody can work out why I had a wheel bearing fitted wedne and now the brake goes right to the floor and really spongey, I have fitted a new master cylinder and had the brakes bleed so may times just cant seem to get the pressure up, I do have a broken bleed nipple would that cause this problem, thing is I dont know when it broke or who broke it!!!!!

Also the stalling prob could be your map sensor rather than your lamba, I had the same problem and it was that give it ago if your still having problems you think u have spent alot Ive spent £800 in 3weeks on mine I think it must just like the garage"!!

you will be needing new calipers unless you can get old bits out

From here head along A47 to Kings Lynn
Then Up the A149 to Hunstanton along the coast till we reach East Runton

On the left will be a little fish and chip shop and just after there will be a turning on the left go down here and there is a car park here we can get chips (hopefully it will be open I havent been here for a while and cant remember what time it opens!)

Then head to the cliffs in Cromer for munch and take pics.

After head along A149 till we hit Yarmouth We can then re gather in the car park oppostie the pleasure beach and decide what to do from here.

There is a very much more back road we could take but ill leave the decision to you lot

The other option if we wanted to take a shorter route would be to go from swaffham up the A1605 through Fakenham and Holt, straight to Cromer and then on as planned. Or meet closer to nowich up the A140 to Cromer and then as planned. (just thinking of fuel prices!!)


SO IDEAS PLEASE AND THEN A FINAL DECISION CAN BE MADE ON SAT AFTERNOON SO WE ALL KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING!!

It's a BP petrol station with a macdonalds beside it and a big gravel carpark beside MacDonalds which I suggest is where we all meet.

Hope that makes sense? It's pretty easy to find if you're on the A47, there aren't many roundabouts and it's the only BP station for miles.

Problem being im in Newmarket tonight and will not be able to get away. The weather has really pissed me off!!! The forecast for tommorow is dry and dull that would of been much better!!!

And Vicky if your running standard quicky brakes that are not too healthy i wouldn't really risk driving too far on them. Mine are shockingly bad and the disks and pads are only two months old!!

Tell me about it the brakes are horrid might be something to do with since Ive had a new wheel bearing they have been really bad think got the wrong wheel bearing cause got saxo gear box and drive shaft cause ive just had to replace a;ll of that and couldnt get a 106 one.

Just got back from our little drive. Was gonna be 3 of us but one guy disappeared as we where leaving the Golden Arches. He wasn't a forum member, he'd got a flyer. China blue GTI with white wheels from Lowestoft if anyone knows it. We did look for him but to no avail so apologies to you Mr. China Blue GTI if it seems like we just drove off.

Anyway, that left Lee (Leeroy.87), his two passengers and myself in a mighty 2 car convoy! It didn't stop raining all afternoon and the coast road was so busy and slow we resorted to a few backroads inland. We did find a few bits of open road which let the cars stretch their legs a bit although it was fairly puddly and slippery on the corners.

All in all it was a bit disappointing to be honest. Partly because of the weather and traffic, which can't be helped, but also because there where only 2 cars. Another 3 cars would have made all the difference. Anyway, I just left Lee and co in Yarmouth, I might pop back there at some point this evening. Vicky, I'll txt you if I do.

Perhaps next time we should arrange to meet at Yarmouth or a pub somewhere which will require a little less commitment.

Soz guys i feel bad that you two were only 3 miles up the road from where i live (Heacham) but at the mo im in newmarket without my Quicky so getting there would of been a bit of an issue - Weather let us down badly and im not suprised the traffic was a complete nightmare with it being bankholiday.

I don't mind helping organise a meet. Something simple and with more opportunity to meet and talk to each other. Today was just like follow the leader across Norfolk, not particularly sociable although Lee's mate Justin passengered with me most of the way which was cool (except he has a Saxo :p )
