the nicest car of the day I would have to say was the black Gti with white raptors!

What a good day today !! Even though we all got lost a few times and a couple of us had car problems it was still a good day. Cheers to everyone that made the effort to come today, I really didn't expect that many people/cars here today but was glad of the outcome !! Next one will be even bigger and better organised. You can count on that !

The day started well, I arrived at McDonalds just before the Forth Road Bridge on time expecting me to be one of the first there. Nope, I was the last there !

After going in for some breakfast and arguing with the staff about it being before 10:30 even though it was now 11:00 we started off driving to the forth road bridge. What do we get ? Tail backs waaaay back, I was straight on the phone to give the Aberdeen lads and update of us being late. Which suited them as they were running late also. 20 minutes to get over the bridge, a joke ! But having a Skyline GT-R V-Spec infront of me made it worth while, my fucking dream car and it looked stunning !

On the way up we were having a game of chase, 7 car convoy snake ! With GTi's pushing me ! God it finally hit me how much I missed my wee GTi !

We arrived at Tescos 15 minutes after the said time, which wasn't so bad, but the only person to be seen was Gavin_106. The Aberdeen lads were still on their way. We while later they showed up, as did Gregor and his mate. It was actually looking like a good turn out. We waited on a silver 106 that had come in and out just before we all arrived ( thinking it was Chalm7 ) but he never returned !

So we began our way to the docks to take some pictures. Everyone got lost apart from the first 4 or 5 cars at the front, bloody traffic lights ! :mad:

After a wee wrong turn and over the bridge me and Gregor finally pulled in to the docks to find everyone waiting on us :rolleyes: Oh well ! To top it off, my car dies :eek: **** knows how it happened but the 100amp fuse blew :mad: leaving me to crawl back and ask if anyone had tools. Which seemed to amuse the crowd and the ' Jap Crap ' chants started. Tail between the legs moment !

After some good pics at the docks we went to the pub for some food, again we got lost lol but we got there eventually. Only to be told the kitchen is closed until another 45 minutes. Some people had plans so they couldn't stay, so it was a bit of a downer but these Dundee folk must need 3 breaks a day in their shift :D

The food was superb, quick service, those 10 polish immigrants in the kitchen musta been getting whipped cos by the time I had ordered one of our table started eating ! Thanks to Gavin again for taking the time to pop in advance and give them notice that 15 hungry people were gonna rape the kitchen.

The drive home seemed to last forever, probably because I was bursting on the toilet, but again it was good fun, even though people were nowhere to be seen withen the first 20 minutes, and I was only going about 50mph !!

I hope everyone that came enjoyed themselfs atleast a wee bit and plan on coming to the next one. I'll make sure its better planned so we dont get lost :D

Yup, when i had it weighted at daltons it was a touch over 900 kgs with the dash, headliner, doorcards and some tools. Now as peeps have said its pritty much 2 seats, carpets and a satnav. Still carring spare fuel and some recovery parts for when i stubble across japcrap with blown fuses! LOL. 50mph eh? LOL Yeah top day, glad i made it up. Was a shame i didnt make it for the start but my cars not really photoshot material. Next one will be tho. Spot on with the spec chomps. Only bits that you missed or got wrong were.. Piper cams and Diesel driveshafts and the all important oilcooler.

Aye, im interested to see what its putting out now, it got 133.5 on the last run, that was with the wong exhaust and the pipercross filter in the induction kit. Thats long gone now and the exhaust is a staight thro. Tomorrow the seats are coming out, the carpets coming out and the hoovers making an appearence. The scooby sport seats are going in. Then im off to get it weighted.

Then asked if anyone wanted bucket seats for £65. They were snapped up in no time ! Minted pair aswell, brand new ! He was a sound guy, he stayed for a wee bit and gave us some banter.

No prob's, the wheels are ok themself's as I say ones got slight bubling, I put 4 new tyres on them and used them for about 6 months so plenty tread left, the tyres are budget's, Wanli's they're called not the best for a Gti or rallye but would certainly do for the lower spec models.

I did say to drew about selling his pugsport but I dunno if he would, Just don't have the cash to fork out for a brand new one, i'm looking for the 2inch one if you hear of any one selling 1.

am in spain at the time of the rollin road day, but will see if my mate wants to take it down for me, Thats only if i dont get it rolling roaded when i remap it. Or will just let him take it down for you guys to have a peek under the bonnet!

I told ma mate who bought my white xsi with the gti in it to go to the meet, but he was to hung over! The cars lost it track slag look though and is up on pistonheads. I had a race with Low 106 down kirkaldy in it one night when i had it and it was either him or his mate in another gti that thought it was on bodies!hehe

maybe 1 day i`ll get to go to a meet!

I might be looking to buy another 106 or Saxo soon if my works van never happens. £30 a week on petrol just to get to work isn't pretty but its the fact its adding 18miles per day to the mileage.

I very much doubt I'll be able to look for a GTi at my price range so not sure what to go for. Maybe a quiksilver.
